Default Custody class/risk change

Hi what happens when an inmates custody class/risk changes? My LO is in a 2 yard he was a 2/2 minimum risk now he got a major violation and itís showing 3/3 will they transfer him to a 3 yard?? Or will he most liking stay on the same yard? Plz someone answer that has experience with this. Iím am starting to freak out.

If he got a ticket and he got reclassed to a 3/3 then yeah he is going to go to a 3 yard most likely.

My LO got a ticket but he didn’t get charged. He just has 1 major violation and 3 minimum.

I doubt he’ll stay on the 2 yard. My LO has changed yards with almost every major ticket. He was a 2/2 and is now 3/3.

This is his first major and they are letting him stay in the yard.. he wasn’t charged with the violation. I’ll find out more on Monday.

Just because he was charged doesnt mean they wont move him. The higher classification he has , the higher security he needs.

My friend has 2 major tickets and he got moved up to the max yard & he wasnt charged.
Depending what his tickets are for and things like that.

There doesnt need to be an outside charge to move yards

Yeah that’s true he is possibly going to get moved to a 3 yard in Tucson. I sent him 2 letters and a card last week, will the mail get forwarded to the new yard he is at?

It will , but when is the main question. Also , from what a few people have told me there is a big IF he will actually get them. Ive been told that sometimes other inmates will take new inmates mail & sometimes even write to their families. Rare tho. He should get them it just might be a while

I sent my LO a letter and the next day he got moved and he got them both times. But you’re right “when” is a big question, I’m not sure how long it took. If you sent them last week there’s a chance he may already have them. It takes mine 2-3 days to get to him in Yuma. I can’t answer your cimarron question because I’m not familiar with it. It may just be multiple yards at that facility, and they number them?

I know this thread is a few months old but I have a question about tickets. My fiancť had one minor ticket in Sept and was put on LOP for 30 days. He recently got 4 tickets all in a week for not going to work because he had a medical condition and was waiting until he saw the dr on Monday. Now it shows they gave him 4 tickets total for that week, 2 minor and 2 major. Are they going to move him to a higher yard? The last verdict date was 2/6 so I haven’t been able to talk to him yet but I’m worried they are going to change his custody level and move him. He only has 39 days left of flat time. Would they move him so close to the end?

With flat time? Im not sure, but they most likely could with that many tickets in one week. But because it was a medical reason he could fight it unless he was proven guilty. Even then tho he can appeal it

I’m not sure if they will move him so close to the end, sorry i can’t answer that part. However my LO got a ticket for not going to work because he was literally in isolation or something due to medical reasons and COULDNT go idk the whole story but i don’t see why he’d lie about that- anyway he tried to appeal it and they denied it and still stuck him with it. I would still encourage him to appeal it though, it doesn’t hurt to try.

His custody level depends on points. Every ticket carries a certain amount of points. So if all those tickets stick his points will go up and yes they will move him to a higher custody yard.

The disciplinary rules and a list of the violations by class, along with the penalties - there are charts toward the end.
