Default Sending money and books from home to Federal inmate

How much can you send or is there a limit on how much money can you send to your LO's account?

Has anyone tried sending hardcover books with the hardcover removed? We have a lot of used hardcover books we bought from the library that I plan to remove the hardcover and send it via USPS Priority 4-5 books at a time.

Please advise, and thanks so much in advance.

The kind of books you can send, and the way they can arrive depends on the security level of that prison. Hardcover books almost always must arrive directly from a book store or the publisher, so I doubt that having you mail them without their covers will work. The accurate answer can come from the inmate after a trip to the mail room during their open house.

The maximum amount of money? All I can definitely say is that the maximum monthly commissary spending limit, plus phone use (about $400.00) worked for me.

Hardcover books i am told were not and are still not accepted where mi loved one es doing his time at, awaiting either plea bargain(reasonable)and or trial."
Pero...(but)he always receives mi soft-cover, and biblia's,(bibles) so at his IL., facility he is told no hardcover and i have a few nice ones i hope 1 day to give him, and i am going to talk to the mail lady!(she is so nice, took a liking to me alot for a long time now we been in each other lives, and i am going to call soon and see if she can just give him the few hard-cover books, as i know as others say it's really up to the prison/county jail/the one's in charge, but she might be able to. not sure.

But all of mi other books softcover he gets all the time. adios.
