Question Moving from County to Prison...what to expect

Hello,
I am new to all of this so just have a few questions. My fiance' is going back to prison and was sentenced for 2 yrs. With time served, the 85% rule and time for good behavior we are hoping he will only be there 4 months! He currently is in County and will be moving to Alhambra any day.

On his DOC inmate datasheet it says "Release Type" = Overcrowding?? does anyone know what that means? Since his time is potentially so short would they just keep him at Alhambra? That would kind of suck because then I won't be able to see him or talk to him the entire time right?

We have been talking on the phone and having video visits for the past 5 months while he was in county...the thought of going a few days without talking to him makes me sick but 3 or 4 months is unbearable. Guess I am grasping at straws hoping that I was actually going to hug him and hold his hand for even a second. The other thing is does it really take 60 days to get approved for visits? By the time I get approved he'll be ready to get out.! Ugh...I am trying to be patient but information seems to be conflicting at best.

Thanks in advance for any info...

Fairly new to the prison world but I don’t think they move you from county if your only in for 4 Months. Good time is already calculated in, from what I’ve understood and it can just be taken away with bad behavior.
What does his release date show on DOC site?

I always understood the 85% rule to mean, you will serve 85% of your sentence.
2 years = approx 1 yr and 7 months.

My nephew is in Kingman and it really did take 60 days to get approved for phone calls. Applied mid December 2018 and just got my first phone call this week. I did not apply for visitation since I am out of state so not sure if that takes the same amount of time.

That is exactly what it means. "Good time" really just means they will get released at that 85% mark. I just had a paper about it for my Criminology degree and that's the biggest issue with that law right now. That even with good time you serve 85%.

Release date just says 12/31/9999 - so that has not been updated...

yes that is correct but he has credit for time served over 400 days, plus he can get about 88 days for good behavior (1 day for every 7 served) so 4 months is what we are hoping for, at most 7 months I guess...

So it seems like the 7 month calculation was closer because the release date has c updated and it's a year... So apparently when you have concurrent sentences you deduct the credit time from each separate sentence and then the 85% and if they get credit for good behavior it's one day for every 7served I think...anyway looks like it will be a year and that makes me sad. I told myself not to get my hopes up because this stuff always figures out differently than expected. And I know compared to alot of people's sentences a year is nothing and I'm thankful it's not the full 2byrsnor even 3 if his sentences we're not concurrent. I also saw that he was classified as a 4/4...any insight on that from anyone? I'm surprised that he got that since the reason he is back is because he violated probation. Am I going to be able to have contact visits if he is a4/4? All of this is so confusing and so much to absorb! I'm going to have to find a way tell his mom & dad since I have been the one taking care of everything since his arrest and his sentence to go back. Well any insight is appreciated. And as a reminder don't count your chickens before they hatch...just leads to disappointment.
Thanks all...

Hey love I’ve attached a link to the earned incentive programme. Page 8 & 9 have the information regarding phases and privileges for each security level.

So looking at this it looks like a 4/4 custody class is Max not close...is that correct? so only one 15 min call a week and no contact visits?? So are those 'no contact visits video visits or thru glass or what? I really hope he is close not max..this sucks.

4/4 is close custody. Not max. My BF is 4/4. We get contact visits no problem and he gets 15-minute calls once a day.
