Thumbs up A retired Police Captain demolishes the "war on drugs" and prohibition

A good interview and good group: http://www.leap.cc/

There are basically 5 reasons why most drugs are still illegal in this country:

1) The large banks make a lot of money, laundering drug money cash.
2) The CIA makes a lot of money trafficking drugs to fund black-ops; it provides a useful mechanism to meddle into the affairs of other countries. (especially south of our border)
3) It provides an excuse for heavy handed domestic intervention by the government and draconian laws.
4) It keeps street violence and general crime levels high. Very useful to maintain and exacerbate a scared population.
5) It creates a lot of slush money for politicians. (e.g., campaign donations from the private prison industry.)

Did I leave anything out?
