Don't forget the flu is going to hit you midday tomorrow lol...
Since he has been gone, I finished up the wood floors into the master bad, but I have not finished the trim. I redid the cabinets, and removed one faucet, and replaced it, but I have not finished the plumbing underneath it. I emptied both cabinets under the sinks, and the stuff is still in boxes in the closet. Just little things that I know we can do together. Most of these are 2 person projects.

The yard got mulched and trees were trimmed and patio and yard look great, but I'm having a problem with a irrigation valve...he can troubleshoot and fix that one.

I had a water heater go out about 8 weeks ago, and installed a new one, but of course, it was bigger, 6 inches taller, had to be moved 8 inches into the room, and then all the shelving and tool boxes had to be shoved back in.

He GETS to reorganize all that, as there is no room to walk in. When I moved his stuff here, I told him, at the point that our tools are complied together, there was no separating them....he was here to stay!!

**He has no idea how many tools I have....I have been an avid home remodeler for a number of years, and just have so much crap! and a 5 foot rolling tool box....pretty damn impressive for girl!!!

Well 24 hours from now, I'll be heading south...and yes, I do feel like "flu like symptoms" are coming on today....Damn I think I will have to take off work tomorrow, for this silly flu thing going around!

I'm down to the last 24 hours....I can't believe my ticker says one day. I did call the yard, and he is on the docket for release tomorrow. Which I liked their answer better than Friends and Family, who said, "probably on Monday". I believe the prison more so, as she physically looked at the docket and wanted to confirm that I was picking him up, and documented it, in the file.....rather than a bus ride home!! She also gave me details as to where to drop his clothes off, which I already knew, as it's the same building as property pick up!!

Of course, I will call one more time, today, to confirm again!!!

Oh and I still need to get my yellow ribbons, tied around the old palm tree!!

Well, officially, I am a bit numb, excited, and a little overwhelmed. I have lots of last minute to-dos but I realize NONE of them are that important. Having him SAFE at home, at last is all that really matters.

We have less than 12 hours, and my last 4am wake up call for a drive to prison. And guess what is kinda funny...NO quarters!!

I will drop his clothes off early, see what his ETA will be and probably run down to get my last coffee at the over prices Shell station!!

My phone has been blowing up all day with texts and good tidings...my mom has even called me a dozen time.

As much as I would love a glass of wine, I am so afraid I would just sleep right through my alarm clock...hell, that's if I sleep at all!

I am washing the sheets in the guest room, as if that's really "that" important, but it's keeping me busy and focused on something else!!

I need wanted to get the last bit of grocery shopping done, but I realized, why should I take this pleasure away from him!! He loves to grocery shop and a quick trip to Fresh and Easy should be perfect!! As long as I have coffee and creamer in the morning, I am good!

So as my ticker says "Today My Paulie comes home".

It's a bit surreal to me. I didn't sleep really well last night, knowing Paul is in "the box" "the hole" whatever it's called. They would of taken him from his cell yesterday and placed him in (I'm guessing) and outtake section of the yard. I am sure he was up most of the night as well.

Dammit, I am already crying, but such tears of joy. He IS coming home today!! OMG!

When I talked to pick up said to be there at 8:30, which seems late for me...I want to arrive earlier, but then again, will I sit around and wait for 2 or 3 hours. I have no idea.

I will do one sweep around the house, catch as much dog fur, make the guest room bed...just because I want the whole place to look great. My room mate moved out yesterday. Talk about everything coming down to the wire.

I have one last load of laundry to do, coffee is brewing, and I will jump in the shower and SHAVE....hehehehehehehe If I am doing well on time, I may do a quick shopping trip at Safeway, which opens at 5am. I can run in and out of there in 20 min for the list I would like to pick up. Was just too exhausted last night...I am WAY more of a morning person!

I know I will be crying even more later, when he walks out of there...I never thought this day would come.

Oh, I got a call from one of Paul's good friends....."I know he's coming home tomorrow and I just wanted to commend you and thank you for standing by his side. If you or Paul need anything, please let me know".

He also showed up to the hospital with his gf and dropped off flowers "just doing what Paul would be doing if he was here".

This is the same one, I have butted heads with forever...I was most pleased with the phone call last night...it really meant a lot to me!!

I am sure my phone will blow up all morning. Funny, mom and dad are heading to Texas today....driving out about 9:30 or 10:00. We might cross paths...depending upon the time, we might stop so my mom can give him a big hug...but not sure!! They will be gone through the holiday, so a quick stop and hug would mean a lot to her!

I will update later...

Thank you, everyone (all 5935+ views, and over 300 postings, as of this morning!). In my over 2 years, 8 months on PTO, I don't think I have ever seen a countdown with that much activity!!

Thank you especially for all the personal comments and support on this thread! My box is overflowing with personal messages and I truly thank YOU!!! This countdown meant so much to me, to share it with everyone really made such a difference to me!

BIG ((HUGS))

Love, Paulie's Girl
