If Im remembering correctly, it cant weigh over I think its 13 oz.
(Im sorry right now my browser wont let me access cdcr's website)
Each facility is slightly different on what exactly you can send and how much.

I think it used to be (this was for cci) 40 sheets of plain lined paper, stamps (a booklet) as for envelopes I think its as either 20 or 40. (sorry)
I'd go and check what facility your loved one is in, and look for the sticky that says
Prison information guide.
It gives a link to the different things for each. Like what you can and cant send, directions, places to stay overnight etc.
I'll give you a link to cci's since thats the one Im familiar with but each facility should have that same sticky with info that that facility

I didn't know you could send writing things to inmates. I thought we had to buy them there. or maybe that is just in Texas. I will have to google that.

It likely varies with each state. Heck even within the state of CA it varies.
(consistently inconsistent)
When my hub was in reception at SQ I could send him pens (clear base, like a BIC pen)
But not once he got to his *home prison* Just paper/envelopes/stamps.

You could not send blank cards (ones for my hub to use) so if you lightly penciled in a signature I could send those.

(thanks to someone from pto that told me this)

You can send through the mail. I send my uncle stationary regularly. I send him 100 sheets of paper, a book of stamps and 20 envelopes at a time. I send him blank cards so he doesn't have to buy them. I get a variety of nice ones from the Dollar Tree for him. I generally put everything in a big yellow envelope and take it to the post office so they can weigh it. He gets everything with no problem.
