Feminine hygiene products in Alabama jails

The legislature is going to vote on a bill that just got out of committee to require jails to issue feminine hygiene products without charging for them.

Wow, they charge now?!. When I was in the CO's would just tell us to ask NEXT shift to bring some into pod!. They'd let us bleed on ourselves or use toilet paper or wash cloth. I learned to make home made Tampax from a cellie!.

The county jail I was in provided pads....and everybody made homemade tampons from them.

I believe female hygiene products should be free, its not like we can manage without them.
