Default Lost Pardon Application - Oklahoma

So I submitted my Pardon application as soon as I was eligible with all the required information nice and neat, labeled, itemized, references, reports, etc...

I followed up a month after sending it and they said to wait one year.

One year later they have no record it seems and no information. I called, followed up and then called again to follow up. No progress so far.

It was sent certified mail of course. Does anyone know what I can do if they can't find it? Do I have to file a suit against them? Do the entire process over and wait again till they get around to it?

I am trying to do everything right so I can get my record cleared up and be able to get back into the job market and this is gonna set me back a year now it seems.

I have duplicates of everything as well. Oklahoma-Texas Co. is the location of the original offence if it matters.

Thanks in advance

You have two options; talk with an attorney or resubmit. The attorney will probably tell you to resubmit, noting in the cover letter that this is a supplemental copy to replace the copy that they apparently misplaced along with a copy of the signed receipt. You may want to get your attorney to write this type of letter on legal letterhead.

I didn't take any chances with mine. On the very day I was eligible (exactly 3 years after killing my number) I went down and HAND-DELIVERED it myself to the receptionist, slipping it under the bullet-proof glass in the lobby and watched as she stamped it with the day's date.

I was called and interviewed about a year later by a hearing officer, then got word of their decision in the mail around the 19-month mark.

Many of those Pardon and Parole Commission offices are way understaffed and backlogged when it comes to processing pardon requests, so don't be surprised if you suddenly hear back from them out of the blue in the coming months.

But yeah, I'd go ahead and re-submit if I were you, just to be on the safe-side. If you can't find their physical address to deposit it in person, talk to an attorney who can submit it for you. (Never hurts to have an attorney look over your packet as well, in case he/she may have any suggestions.)

I would have delivered it myself but I'm not setting foot back in that state. I sent it certified registered mail and have the reciept for the delivery though.

If I resubmit will I have to go and update everything? (Credit report, pay stubs, etc?)

I spoke to someone different over there today who seemed like he wanted to help. He told me he was going to send and email and asked for my email. We will see...
