Carson City has one place to stay that I know of (it is a small town). It is the Midway Inn located at 205 E. Main Street. The Inn is a little over 2 miles away from Carson City Correctional and Boyer Road Correctional Facilities. As I stated the town is small. For placed to eat Carson City has a Subway (located inside a gas station), McDonalds, Main Street Pizza, Mancinos (sub shop), The Rusty Nail (sit down casual), and a small grocery store. The closet larger city is Greenville, which is a little over 20 miles away. Greenville has several stores (Meijer, Wal-Mart) and places to eat. Here is a link for Carson City that has a list of what the town has available.

I believe Michigan temp's in April range from the 30's-50's, still very chilly, especially at night.

Yeah, I really don't suggest you stay in Carson City. Definitely take the drive and stay in a nearby town, for sure.

You'll want to have a light jacket and wear layers. April is one of the (many) wacky months that is pretty unpredictable in Michigan.

Default Don't stay in Carson City

Ditto to the recommendation NOT to stay in Carson City. I found it well worth the drive to stay in Greenville. The evenings are chilly cool there this time for year, but then again, I live in AZ and I have never once in 3 years of coming to Michigan NOT been cold. When it snowed on Easter, I about lost it b/c I'd been swimming in the pool before I left to come there.

braving the cold weather will be worth it when you are finally able to see your man... ditto on not staying in Carson City..... i can't suggest anything as I always drive home but the motel in Carson City looks pretty bad, from the outside anyway.

Michigan... where you may wear your snowsuit and swimsuit in the same week!!!

April can be snowy... April can be sunny... it's a toss up, check the weather about 2 weeks to a week before and then dress for the opposite. I'm not kidding lol.

Seriously... layer!

Ditto on the layers. Lots of layers. Better to have more than you need than to be wishing you'd brought more. You'd hate to have to spend photo and vending money on another sweatshirt..

My first (and only) trip to Carson City i stayed in Lansing - it was about a 30 minute drive but the hotel was really nice and right off the highway... From what I remember of Carson City it was definately not a location that had much of anything and nowhere I would want to stop. Dont get the wrong idea - I dont think they have a high crime rate but it is small small small town with nothing but what appears to be old buildings and nothing to do. The only place I saw anyone eating at was the bar at the corner where you turn left to go to the facility. I didnt eat there but the parking lot looked full when I drove by.
