Red face Intro--Raena From Texas

I'm from a large metroplex in Texas and my fiancé was arrested and falsely charged with Aggravated Assault of a Family Member in July 2018. After he found out about the warrant for his arrest, and before being arrested, he was able to obtain a lot of proof of his innocence. Because he has a prior [serious] charge from 24 years ago, and on parole the situation was bad. The DA was convinced he was guilty and was out to prove him so, even with photos and recordings that we submitted proving his innocence. After the complaining witness changed her story 3 times + accused the responding police office of lying, the DA still tried to force him to take a plea. Thankfully!, 9 months to the day of his arrest, charges were dismissed. Problem now - we have a blue warrant and 2 technical violations to deal with. Spoke with 5 attorney's today that handle parole issues + a local activist - and received differing information from all of them with regards to how the Texas Parole Board works and how decisions are now rendered. I'm at a complete loss!

Welcome to Prison Talk. It's good that the new charges were dismissed, but he is still facing his parole problems. Hiring a lawyer who specializes in TX Parole Board matters is very positive, in my opinion anyway.

It's hard to say what the board will do in any given situation concerning a technical violation but I will say this, right now the Parole Board in general is showing morel leniency and mercy than in years past. He didn't pick up a new charge and that is a plus.
