I am hoping someone has information on Pendleton. I've called there twice and theres just soo many questions to ask. I am new to the whole jail/prison system and am totally scared to death. I'm scared for him, I'm scared he's gonna be beat to pieces, I'm scared he has a mean roommate, don't even know if he's got one, I suppose I'm just scared of the whole thing, and he's gonna be there along time. My God, I have been in soo much pain for 7 months and now it's a whole new routine and it has me scared to death. Thanks for listening and if you have any information on this prison, please please let me know.
I don't know anything about Pendleton but my man is in the Correctional Industrial Facility which is just outside the walls of the Pendleton Facility. On the same property, its part of Pendleton. He says he hasnt had any problems. Just as long as you keep to your self and don't get involved with the bad guys then you'll be ok. Dont worry as long as he keeps to himself, he'll be fine. Just write him letters to keep his spirits up. If you need to talk i'm here. Good luck
My son who is 20 just got sent their so please keep me up on what you hear. and I will keep you updated as well . Right now I'm trying to find the address to mail him postal money order for commmisarry
Attached is a link for the Indiana DOC. The address for Pendleton though is:
PO Box 28
Pendleton In 46064
You can also use jpay at www.jpay.com to put money on his commissary account. It costs a little more than a postal money order, but if the post office is really busy beats standing in line (around Christmas is was really great).
My husband has been there going on 4 yrs. And he has told me a lot of bad stuff that he has actually seen in there. And sometimes i wished he wouldn't have, since i worry about him. But tell them to just get into schooling and anything productive, & stay to themselves. That is about all i can tell you. I am getting antsy since he is now considered Level 1 and i have 12 weeks to wait til he can be moved to a new prison.
Good Luck to all your loved ones that are at CIF.
I saw in the paper today where Pendleton was on lockdown but the paper did not go into details. I do not know if they are still on lockdown or what the deal is. I am going to try and research it.
Mrs Ford about 50 inmates took over control of one section. It lasted about 3 hours before control was regained. They say on the tv station that 2 inmates had minor injuries but no guards and that they were higher level inmates. No details were given about what caused the disturbance.
Attached is a follow up story from another tv station on the lockdown. It doesn't give a lot more info, but indicates a day later that they are still on lockdown.
Do these incidents ever have an affect on other prisons in Indiana going on lockdown? I'm headed out there for a visit this week and hoping all goes well.
Not usually. We had riots about a year ago at New Castle. The State Police and Feds were called out on that one along with the local police. It was a very public riot, so all Indiana prisons did lock down when that one happened. It involved about 500 inmates, but at the prison my son was at the lock down was about 2 hours or then it was back to normal. If any of the other prisons evern locked down over the incident in Pendleton, they probably lifted it the next day as well.
The news stations here were saying there were only two minor injuries of inmates. No injuries to guards and that the lockdown was lifted. Hopefully the news is more accurate. I always hate to hear of serious injuries and death inside.
