Default Looking for some homecoming help

Hey, my man is getting out in the next six months, it wonderful as I've been waiting 2 yrs. I'm aware, time changes people. I want to
Support him as much as I possibly can. Can anyone offer some support and advice. I've had good conversations with him and he's told me what he needs, I just wonder if there are things that can help us prepare for this transition? or anyone with experience, can offer support.

The best advice I can give is to take things one day at a time, especially at first. Definitely be supportive, but not to a point of enabling. See if u can find a counselor in your area that specializes in family reunification, I started seeing one in sept, my man comes home next month. My counselor has been great, and has had alot of good advice for me, and it also establishes us with a counselor for when he comes home. Try not to expect too much right away, good luck!!!

Thanks, I appreciate your thoughts and advice! Yes, I'm worried, as I am expecting a lot from him and our relationship.

Make sure to let him know ur expectations up front, but be willing to compromise on some things(this is where I tend to have problems lol) and be sure to give him some time to re-adjust before throwing TOO much at him. Depending on how long he's been in, just being out can be a real shock to the system!!!

Thank you, I plan to have that conversation with him. Knowing I may not get all I expect. It's about give n take.
