Positive MWI Update:Preparing for Halfway House
When I first wrote my MWI (now fiance) back in November of 2015, planning for him going to the HWH seemed forever away, but now here we are!
Yesterday, his dad texted me saying he would be sending me a check to cover buying his clothes for when he goes to the Halfway House. I've never shopped for a guy before, but luckily he is a simple white t-shirt and jeans kind of guy. The shopping list is short and basic, but enough to get me excited that his homecoming is finally starting to feel REAL! Yes I am a bundle of nerves!
We don't actually have a HWH date yet, he was put in for 6 months, but I already know it's unlikely he would get that much. Regardless, we are planning as if it could be any day now!

He's going to need interviewing clothing and winter stuff also, lots of things we take for granted he's starting from scratch. Good luck with everything!!!

Be sure you're returning here to PTO chica, to update!
So sweet to have his parents. or even 1 help out, that is a great thing...
The "planning/preparation i think es always fun, when they know they are about to be released to either HWH/and or directly to their loved one, (you.)etc.,
Nervous for some, es chica completely natural, pero ...(but) you're goin' to get over that quick!(once he at his HWH)
and to go shopping 4 a guy, es dulce(is sweet) and i m a fan of it, i love it!(depending on cost naturally and other things, but i enjoy it) and have done it so you're going to like it too. i feel your happy feelings all throughout your new thread. I am very happy he is home soon... Adios. hugs blessings to you, on the next part of you and your fiancee' journey."(from the prison world...) to the REAL world.

It's exciting when you can see that the end is near. Ask him what he wants you to do about clothing, he may want to do most of the shopping himself after he is released to the HWH.

Hooray! Kohls has decent clothes of you are looking to get him stuff and you're on a budget. I would consider the weather when he will be getting out. Couple shirts, sweatshirt, jeans, sweatpants, possibly a coat, socks, underwear.
Watch the sales to get more bang for your buck. T shirts will be cheaper soon as we head into fall. Etc etc
I wouldn't go overboard but enough to get him started. After wearing what he has been wearing, he will be happy with his own stuff. He will also probably need hygiene products
I am so happy. These are happy stresses!

Thank you so much girl!! I will definitely keep you all posted on the next part of our journey! Also, I agree it's great he has such a supportive father, I've been in touch with both his parents throughout his time in prison. Now I'm just eager to meet my guy in the REAL world!

Yes there finally is a light at the end of the tunnel! He told me what he wanted, just a few basics for when he first arrives at the HWH. I only live an hour from where he will be so I'm guessing if he needed something else I could drop it off? Or he could get a pass to shop himself? Not sure how it all works at the HWH yet..

Happy stresses, yes that's exactly how I would describe it!
My mom works at Tjmaxx so I'll be using her employee discount and she always keeps an eye out for sales! Gonna check out Kohls too, I always get those discount coupons for there! My guy is starting from scratch so he really just needs the basics to start and we will figure it out from there

Each HWH has its own rules, but mine allowed shopping passes after an initial 72 hour lockdown, and drop offs immediately.

I’m so happy for you! I remember that feeling and it’s amazing knowing the end is near. If you forget a few items, don’t trip. There will be opportunities throughout the future to send addtl items, and he won’t really know everything he.ll need til he gets there. Just try to remain calm, positive and supportive. That’s what he needs most right now. This is new to him and he will be nervous also, whether he tells you or not. So excited for you to be embarking on a new journey w.your love. Good luck!

Getting him the basics is good and if you guys are allowed you can go shopping together. This way he can pick out some stuff he really likes and gives him choice back.
So.glad you're getting closer to the finish line.

It is frustrating- I found the last few months the hardest- especially the last 3- I just wanted the prison time to end.
I was sick of it lol
Keep your head up- you'll be there before you know it! Xoxo
If you have any questions pm me- mine went hwh in may, so I just went through the whole thing

lol oh yes, I definitely want his time in prison to wrap up!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it, I'm sure I'll have questions if/when he goes to the HWH, He seems to think he might not get any HWH time, he was originally put in for 6 months but now they changed it to 1-90days max..
