Default Question on nonviolent parole notification on inmate locator

My question is: When does the notification appear on the inmate locator that they are eligible for nonviolent parole review process? I am asking because my LO is a nonviolent determinante sentence and is already in fire camp training and his doesnt show this notification it just shows an EPRD and someone elses LO is at reception and his already shows. Does anyone know?

Going on prop 57 "memory" here. NVO parole is based on serving the base term and being parole eligible to potentially not have to serve the enhancement. I think CDCR notifies a few months ahead of end of base term and it has nothing to do with where they are, firecamp or otherwise. This other person likely has a notification not because he is in firecamp but because he is close to the end of his base term.

So, if your LO has an enhancement added to a base term he should hear within a few months of when his base term time has completed.

I hope I am not confusing this but....are you referring to "Parole Eligible Date Information" which, in our case, is the only date showing in addition to his Admission Date on the locator? (Not sure if "notification" means something else here)

My LO is also non-violent, had enhancements, and his PED (Parole Eligibility Date) was showing immediately once he was in reception but it was not correct. Then, after he had spoken with his counselor, the date was updated. He is not done with his base term yet.

The other person is still in reception and his release date is listed in 2020 and he already has the NVO parole review notification on his locator. My LO is in fire camp training his EPRD is listed 9/19 and is also nonviolent level 1 but his locator doesnt have this notification. He has no enhancements, has a determinante sentence, and both of his charges are running concurrent. I was just curios because I know when they are approved for the NVO parole they don't have to face to board and have better chances of release and maybe its an error that my LO needs to fix?

With a release date of 9/19 your LO may not even get reviewed . If he would be considered for review it would be at the completion of the base term. I wouldn't put much faith in the inmate locator it isn't updated like it should be. You can find more information Here on the Nonviolent Offender Parole Review Process
