Default RID program

I am looking for answers as to how long it will take for someone to get in the RID program. My nephew was sentenced yesterday. We are a little confused the judge said 4 to 6 months. Does that include his processing time. If anybody has any answers can you please help. He is from Mississippi if that helps.

Hi missingjustin and welcome to PTO. I have moved your thread here to the Mississippi forum so that members from the area may assist you. I happened to find this on the internet, maybe you've already read it, not sure whether or not it will be helpful as I am not familiar with the program or area. At any rate here ya go: http://www.mdoc.state.ms.us/rid.htm

Thank you! I have read this already. I was hoping someone could tell me about how long it would be until he got into the actual program.

My friend was sentenced to the 6 month rid program on January 16th. He still hasn't made it there. He's currently on his 4th week at Rankin being classified. By the time he does get to the program he'll be at about a year just because of waiting to get moved from. County to classification at Rankin.

My son never went to RID. But, they should move him soon if he has been in Rankin that long. My son was in General Population at Walnut Grove, that is where they use to have the RID Program. I am not sure if they still have it there.
