According to PTO member JLS:

Quote:
The training only takes 6 to 8 weeks. If every thing else goes well, the goal is to get the inmate to camp within 90 days of his being seen by classification committee. Usually, the inmates gets to camp about 3 to 4 months from classification. This is due to having to clear warrants, getting the CI&I, getting medical clearance, etc. Most inmates that are going to camp only stay in CCC for 3 to 4 months.

What was the training like? if you don't mind me asking. Did he wait a long time to get to PFT? I just have so many questions regarding this.

Default CCC Newbie Questions

Hi,
OK so I found out that my man's address at CCC is p.o. Box 2400. Does that mean he's in infirmary?
Does that mean he is hurt? Ugh I'm so anxious.
He just got transferred on Tuesday. I don't know how any of this works or when I'll be able to make visits.... Really hurting here.
Any advice or help would be so nice...

Default Confused

I'm confused on the mail aspect...I'm trying to write a friend at camp and inmate locator says susanville, I know that's reception but does mail go there and the prison sends it to camp or what? I know he gets out in the next couple months so maybe he's been sent back to susanville?

Hi and welcome to PTO..
If you're looking on the CA inmate locator, it will say he's located in Susanville, (Because that's where he was, before he was sent to Fire Camp) but that's not where you send his mail. You might be able to call Susanville to find out which camp they sent your LO too.

Do you know if he's in reception?
If he's just arrived, he probably is.
Not familiar with fire camps and their mail. You may want to check in the fire camps forums.......to see how they process the mail.

I just found out my son in in B unit too. He was at fire camp. I accidentally pressed the nubmer for litigation and the man was nice enough to give me the unit he is in but insisted (despite what the CDCR website says) that it is not the infirmary. I have left a message at the medical number but UUGGHH its so hard when the information is inaccurate and no one answers.

Hey, my fiancé has the same address and no I don't believe that is infirmary. It's a regular dorm unit. My fiancé has been there a little over a month. If you were already approved while he was in reception than the approval form follows. My fiancé got transferred on a Wednesday night and I was there that Saturday morning at 8am to visit. It was behind the glass because he was still in the one-week orientation process. Call Tuesday/Thursday for visiting information I believe they answer the lines between 10am and 1pm.

Also, when he first got in there, I called the records department and they told me all his dorm and bed info so I could get my mail sent directly to him. As of right now, I know facility/yard B is currently on lockdown so visiting is prob not happening until that lockdown is lifted. Hope this helps!
