Default C yard & E yard (dorms 1 & 2)

Let me repost this properly-C yard and E (dorms 1 & 2)-No visits due to quarantine till further notice.
I was told the flu is going around and 5 inmates had to be taken out because it's pretty bad.

That is such crap. They are probably getting crap over the long lockdown so they had to find another "legit" reason to keep the lockdown in effect.

Actually it's probably true. An entire yard (all of the yard) at CCI (Tehachapi) is also on quarantine with no visits this weekend and KVSP is damn close to doing the same thing. My hubby was VERY ill for 2 weeks, but he's feeling better now. People who visited at KVSP last week became ill.

I know it blows - but I honestly think it's legit.

Yeah it is,at least that's what I was just told by a gentelman that works for friends outside (but he works on the inside, not in the trailor.) He just told a few of us in the trailor that it was just E yard that was quarantine due to a bad case of the flu but that a few inmates on C also ended up really sick so they went on quarantine last nite.Supposedly one of the inmates even died because he was so ill,but I don't know how true that is.They were saying 5 inmates had to be hospitalized.

The C.O. in visiting said she doesn't know how long this quarantine will last,(maybe a week or 2.) Even though I found out last nite,I still went up to the prison this morning (since I didn't have anything else to do out here,) hoping that just "MAYBE" something would change or I could atleast get a phone visit."NOT"

D yard blacks-phone visits. It doesn't say it on the visiting line but they are. There was a few pissed off visitors in the trailor who questioned why the visiting line doesn't say,"Blacks-phone visits." There was also many upset C yard ladies (including me ) that questioned why they decided to quarantine last nite and that if they knew inmates were sick then they should have announced it yesterday morning that they would be quarantined.Unfortunately for me,it would not have made a difference because I left Thursday evening to come out and luckly for Ebo who's husband is D yard (black) got in for her family visit before blacks went on ld.

It really does, but I'm more concerned for the inmates and I really hope they're getting the proper medical attention and medication needed.I would go balistic if anything were to happen to my husband. Are the inmates not allowed flu shots? The state would probley consider it a waste on them .

That's actually a really good suggestion. With the close quarters and epidemic that can occur with this stuff that should absolutely be offered. It would save them millions in cost.

CDCR follows the CDC (Center for Disease Control) guidelines for Flu shots. Anyone over 50 years old or with a compromised immune system is offered the Flu shot every September. In November, anyone else that wants the Flu shot can ask for it and get it.

Actually I just got a call from an inmate that was calling me for my husband and he said they've been calling inmates out randomly today and giving them the flu shot.

Staff and free staff bring it in. So do visitors. Then it just takes off through the ventilation system and through mail, food trays, medical, etc.

Default Quarantine - High Desert

"Taxpayers for Improving Public Safety (TiPS)"

[size=3]QUARANTINE - HIGH DESERT

[size=2] A report came in Sunday that High Desert is locked down and under quarantine due to influenza (Flu). According to the report, no visitors are allowed onto prison grounds, and visiting is not expected to be allowed next week.

Before going to High Desert, everyone is encouraged to call first to see if visiting is allowed.

This might help. My son just wrote me a letter. He got his package that was shipped on January 14th a couple days ago. I ordered it from Access.

He didn't say one word about any quarantine or illnesses. He is C8.

Also, he did have his re-evaluation on the 5th and will go back to level 3. I'm really happy about that. They recommended him back to Ironwood where he came from because he had a good record there and Centinela for a 2nd choice. It may take a month or so to get a bus though. Either one is fine with me.
