Default Correctional Facilities Collect Call Providers

Mci is no longer 800.231.0913

providers:
Cbs: 800.844.6591
global tele link: 877.650.4249 [this number will guide you through mci services if needed]

also alls calls are recorded and the calls vary from i believe:

State and county prisons are approximately:
$2.50 first minute then .10 cents per minute up to 20 minutes

federal prisons are approximatley:
$3.10 first minute and .10 cents per minute i believe thats still up 20 minute duration.

State and county prisons you have to set-up collect call accounts with providers above.

Federal prisons most are able to call you by having money in there own account. The details on that may vary prison facility to prison facility you need to inquire with each facility ahead of time so your monies is not held up.

I'm sorry, but what do you mean you have to set up collect call accounts? What happened to them just calling collect and you pressing the button to accept the charges?

some people can still do that, my fiance's mother can, but I cannot, I have to go through a pre paid company, even if I do not have a block on my phone, it usually pretains to correctional facilities, it is different if someone is just at a pay phone, they can call collect, but if they are in a facility, it is blocked.

I live in Cali and have Verizon landline service and do NOT need a prepaid account. Hubby is only 45 minutes away, so a 15 minute call is only $3.50....$2 to connect and 10 cents a minute after that.

This is confusing. Whats the difference between State, County, and Federal prisons? I know that county is just the jail in a particular county like Oakland county jail or Wayne county jail but the others are confusing.
I thought that federal prison just meant they were in prison and not in county jail. Please help! I need to understand all these legal terms.

A federal prison is very different....you go to a federal prison WHEN: you are a member of the armed forces, when you take a victim across state lines...it then becomes a federal crime....child porn is a federal crime....bank robberies are probably federal crimes...cause banks are federally owned....all crimes committed in federal buildings are federal crimes....a jail is where someone is housed prior to trial...i,.e they have not been convicted yet. A state prison is where inmates go after being convicted of a crime and for parole violations. Hope this helps....
