Well from what he's been writing me, he seems to be alright. He said the food is much better then when he was in county. Because he was moved to the medical housing he said everyone is much nicer.

Just prepare for a long wait until your son gets to speak with his counselor. and as soon as he sends you his first letter tell him to send you a visiting form ASAP! if he didnt already. just stay strong, and send him letters as much as possible!

I don't know if anyone else has issues with calling this prison but I'm seriously frustrated, I keep calling this number (661) 758-8400 but it either rings and rings or it is a recording. Is it just me or is it always like this there????? I know the mail takes forever and ever, its summer and staff shortage, not my first rodeo at this but it sucks when all you want is a lil info, any ideas?????? to help in getting through??? Ohhh and ttried calling back to back redial no go...........

You have to follow the prompts... No one answers the main number at any prison.
Dial 661-758-8400
Press 1 for additional options then...
Press 4 for inmate records.....
I just did it 30 seconds ago and I got right through to a person in records.

If you follow these directions you shouldn't have a problem.

Hello everyone. So my husband is here at Wasco and saw a counselor. He is going to fire camp. Does anyone know where these are in Cali?

If he is going to fire camp he will either be sent to Susanville (CCC) or Jamestown (SCC) for training. The training takes a few months but once he completes it he will then be sent to a conservation camp. If he goes to Susanville for training he will go to a northern camp, if he goes to Jamestown he will go to a southern camp.

Thanks Girl. And he mentioned something about 30%. Is that right? Is it after the training?

Yes. That is what the counselor told him. He has a release of January which in total with everything and time served he went in with is actually 15 months in total. Where they figured that idk but it's what it is.

If his release date is in January, he can't go to fire camp... In order to go to camp he needs to have at least 1 year left.

Aww I completely understand. If they are sent to camp though, they first have to go through training. The training takes a couple of months and once complete they are transferred to a camp, so you can see that if his release date is in January it wouldn't benefit them to train him, because once he finished training his time would drop to 35% and he would probably be due for release before he could even get to a camp.

Sooo...out of curiosity

How much of Waso is reception?? People are finishing there time here on a main yard right?? Do all the facilities have a main yard "attached" to them or is there like 1 or 2 buildings that house "main yard folk." The majority people that come here get transfered....right???

Just wondering

Default how do I contact my son's counselor?

My son has been incarcerated for over 4 months now waiting to see his counselor who will place him permanently. We've had no phone contact and this has been so painful. Does anyone know how you can contact his counselor? The counselor's name is Robles at Wasco. The waiting is excruciating!

You should go to the tabs at the top and then scroll down until you find Washington State, look for the prison, it will have phone numbers and there should be someone there who has a loved one at the same prison.
