Jay here. My loved one went to Lumley and stayed there her entire sentence. This time however she is in Santa Cruz. I think everyone goes to Lumly first, especially if it's a violence offense.

Hello, my daughter is in the Lumley unit she has been there for 4 days, I hear it is not that pretty, but I hear this is the worst part when you are in reception. She is a minumum level so she will probably be transferred to Santa Maria yard. I hear different stories about being moved to a yard from 5 days to 60days, of course I am hoping for the 5 days.

Default Perryville-Lumley

Wow, this thread is really old! My inmate was just moved to Lumley--does anyone have more recent information about how things are there?

Lumley is only women's death row. Just called the prison. They said if the inmate wasn't sent to death row they would not be housed in the Lumley yard.

Default Lumley is a medium/maximum yard

I'm not sure who the previous person talked to at the prison but Lumley is a medium/maximum yard. It is not just for death row inmates. The inmate's risk score if too high will dictate their placement on this yard. Usually it is for women who have been convicted of violent offenses. It also houses the R & A inmates when first entering the prison.
