I was able to call records, but still haven't been able to get anyone in visiting. I will try again on Monday, since I know they won't answer the phone over the weekend, and unfortunately, I cannot remember the extensions anymore. It's been too long since we've been there. Does anyone know them? For visiting that is.

i have a question, im afraid i left a question blank on the visiting forms. the one where it says next to your id, when it expires, it says {for official use only} then right next to it, it says state, county and country the i.d was issued...well thats the box i left blank thinking that I was not supposed to write in there....it has been over a month since i sent the applications and i still have not been approved...is that going to affect me being approved??? i hope not, and if it does, do I have to wait another month again until i get approved if i send out another one....ahhhh i am afraid now

That could be the reason it is taking so long for it to get approved, and you might get a denial. You should call them, and see if they will be willing to locate it, and let you know. You might get someone nice enough to fill it out for you with you on the phone. If not, you might want to ask your loved one to send you another application, and resumbit it.

I've had that problem before too, I left out my social security, when I first started this whole situation. It took me 13 weeks to get approved, and I was finally able to speak with the Office Assitant and she just asked me for it, and filled it out, approved it while I was on the phone.

Good luck!

The inmate will get confirmation that you're approved. You can also call visiting and ask if you're on his visiting list. The main number is 661-729-2000.

It took me 3mon. but he was in reception @ North Kern when i got approved.
LAC information guideline says: The average wait for a response is 6-8 weeks, from the time your application is received by the visiting staff. In some cases, it takes longer than 8 weeks. I suggest calling the visiting department if your wait is longer than 8 weeks, and find out if your application has been received. hope that helps lol Good Luck Girlie

That actually is good, at another prison I waited over 90 days to get approved. They normally say up to THREE months wait to be approved.

Does anyone know if you can be approved to visit another inmate in the same OR different facility, if the other guy was or currently is your man's cellie?

Yes you can be approved to visit many inmates at a time. I am on my husband's, and a few of his homeboys and his cellie, along with my cousin and Uncle. And hubby and cellie are at the same prison.
