Default Mail during lockdowns

Mail during lock downs slows way down. They read it a little more carefully for hints, clues concerning incidents. They want to know if there are more plans being made for more disruption. It is what it is.
Hope we hear from them soon.

When your new there it takes awhile to get to your unit. My guy was in some holding place for a month in severe pain and they didnt care. They took away medications previously given at another USP. I know they are on lock down so hopefully soon we will hear from them. Its been over a week now.

Default Phone Calls

I am so happy I was able to talk to my man this morning over the phone. He tried calling yesterday during the hour they were out but it went straight to my voicemail. He said he had to stand in this huge line twice but my phone was off so he had to send a text.

This morning, he said they are hearing that the lock down will end Tuesday but nothing has been confirmed. Until then, as long as they behave they will get an hour a day.

I Love My Inmate

Oh Yeah, this is FCI Victorville Medium II

Husband in Medium II has been let out 2x a day once in the am and once for lunch the last few days and he has been able to call. He said the outgoing mail box there is stuffed that they havent been sending that out either. He believes they may be out Tuesday and this would be their usual way of doing things... after a holiday so no visits. But love him and hope you all are able to hear from your guys!!

Today is the last day of lockdown. (not confirmed) but he did say in a text that they let everyone out, was not sure if it was permanent. If not, then tomorrow for sure. He has not contacted me since so I figure it was just another quickie and will look forward to tomorrow.

So relieved this lockdown is a thing of the past, programs are back to normal & everyone is okay. Hopefully, they all behave themselves so it doesn't happen again but I'm not counting on that.

Hopefully, visiting privileges are restored soon.

Goodnight All & Thank You All For The Useful Information Here Throughout This Entire Ordeal.

Iam new to this My husband was sentenced ten years and sent to USP Victorville which was wrong because he was suppose to be at a Med Facility Sheridan. Due to a incorrect point he had them changed and was to be transferred to a Med. in which we thought it would be Sheridan. After waiting two months his transferred came thru on last Wed. but it wasn't to Sheridan he was placed in Victorville med. ll . I am sure this has him very disappointed. Last tie I got a email was wed at 7 am. I checked and found out he was transferred I haven't heard from him since Wed which is concerning since we email daily. Does anyone know if there is a lockdown or not going on . Or does anyone know if he was in Max do they hold inmate in med if they are to transfer to another med facility such as Sheridan. I was thinking maybe this was the reason. I just don't now what to think or do. I miss him so much and worry twice as much. I live in Yakima Wa which is over 1000 from Victorville. I was so looking forward to seeing my husband soon. It is too costly to travel to Victorville and it seems like they have no visiting because its suspended. This whole thing is crazy. I would appreciate any info on this if anyone has any. Thank you

Welcome to Prison Talk. Being able to communicate with your loved one almost always stops for awhile after a prison transfer. First he has to be approved to use Victorville's phone and email systems, but he will contact you as soon as he is able. Some new arrivals do end up in the SHU when they first arrive at a new prison, which leaves letters as your only way to contact him, at least until he is moved to a general population housing unit.

I hope you hear from him soon.

Thats why I posted above you as soon as I knew. I have done that before... the LONG ride there and no visit! Horrible. Will post if I hear from him at all. I did receive a birthday card but he may have sent it before the lockdown. Last lockdown on his unit they never took the mail out of the unit the whole time. I got five letters in one day! I am still reading the last two! But, trying to be better myself about sending even short letters to help him feel less bored and a little more loved. Its so hard sometimes with life to find time to write. My printer isnt working right because it is so much quicker to print out a good long letter in minutes. Well ladies hope this ends soon this time!

Thank you . He was in USP Victorville Maxium for past 6 months so moving him a building over to Med. you would think his information would be easily transferred with him. but i guess not This is the first time I haven't talked to him for this long of time. We are very close and have a good marriage so its been hard on us I am sure it will get easier as time goes bye. Having others to ask questions to is really helpful. I am glad i found this site

If his phone/email/visiting list information wasn't transferred to the Medium already, it shouldn't take long. Victorville does have lots of lockdowns.

Ugh.. I'm a hot mess. Sick to my stomach, stressed out. It is 4:01am. Yes folks, that is four o'clock in the morning and I cannot go to sleep to save my life. Tonight has been worse then ever. I just have this sick feeling. I miss my man. I just need to hear his voice. I will even break down and do the two minute call if I could just talk to him right this very minute, I would feel so much better.

Does anyone ever feel like we are the ones being punished? Omg, I hate this Federal Prison crap. Somehow, we thought Federal Prison was supposed to be so much better than just plain old San Bernardino County Jail, but so far, in the month that he has been in Victorville, that is not the case. This is already LockDown #3 since 08/01 when he arrived. I am so glad all of this crap will be over in October. I just can't wait. I am not used to this. Even when there is visiting, I don't get to go and see my man because I have not been approved yet. This is so frustrating I can't take much more.

Sorry for venting, Ladies. I'm sure I will be reprimanded for posting this gripe here. Please, if anyone has received a letter or some kind of news regarding this lockdown, please post.

I'm going back to bed.

Some bop prisons (actually the wardens) lock down far more frequently than others, and Victorville's warden seems to be the lock down king.

Wardens do change, and inmates can request a prison transfer from their case manager after 18 months with no conduct violations. Other than that, all he can do is to wait it out while remembering that "this will end".

I received a letter today. He said they have been pulling them out one by one asking them dumb questions like, "Do you know if there are anymore attacks planned on the CO's" or Do they know who started the fight. Oh and the best one was, "Do you know where the drugs are and if there are a lot."

He says, the word going around is that this lockdown should end by Sunday but there is no telling. That's really all he said as far as the prison low down. LoL

Hope everyone is doing well.
