Default Jpay doesn't refund money: Does Jpay owe you money?

My boyfriend and I were supposed to have a Video Visitation yesterday at the new prison he was just transferred to a handful of weeks ago. However, at about 12 am that day I was e-mailed by Jpay saying the visit was canceled because he was moved to a facility that does not have Video Visitation. I thought perhaps he was moved to a new building at the camp that had not had the new technology installed yet. That was not the case. He was moved to a "transfer" prison that does not have Video Visitation or E-mail. When I logged into my Jpay account the sections for E-mail and Video Visitation were gone. I called Jpay to ask when I will be refunded the money for my Video Visitation and also the online "stamps" I just purchased for E-mails. They told me they will be giving me a "free" Video Visitation and that it is credited to my account, but that there is no refunds on "stamps" and they never expire. So I have a "free" Video Visitation and "stamps" for future use that I may never use if he never gets transferred to a prison that offers either. This feels a lot like how the prison phone call companies were ripping off families of prisoners. Nothing changed until we all worked together and forced that change. This isn't right I feel taken advantage of. Any other company not affiliated with the prison industrial complex would have refunded my money by now...Has anything like this happened to you? Does Jpay owe you money?

I hope he is transferred to a facility that has video visits and email....otherwise, its really not fair to be out money you paid for a service that you couldn't/didn't use

Oh hell no!!! Make them credit to his J-pay account, not just for stamps or visitation. I would have gone nuts on them, call your bank or credit card company and get a credit back to whatever card you used!!!
