Default State lawmakers vote on plan to reduce prison population

This is a interview with Matt Cate.

State lawmakers return to Sacramento today to tackle a plan to cut more than a billion dollars from prisons. The Schwarzenegger Administration wants to do that by cutting the inmate population by 27,000. But as KPCCs Julie Small reports, winning support for a plan to let inmates out of prison wont be easy.

So what's the problem now? Why didn't they vote today?
More stalling...

They weren't actually supposed to vote today, I don't think. They were on a 3 week recess, during which these issues were tabled- to be brought back up when they reconvened, which was today. The stalling will happen later on.

That was great audio! I dont get how people can continue talking about not reducing the inmate population.....DUE F-ERS, WE ARE OVERCROWED, PEOPLE ARE DIEING!! WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED! They should talk about that more in the media than riots...they should talk about the sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, husbands and wives that are dying being abused and treated in inhumane manners!
