Department of Correction suspends visitation as a precaution against the spread of coronavirus

Dover, DE – The Delaware Department of Correction (DOC) announces that, effective Thursday, March 12, is temporarily suspending visitation to all of its Level V prison and Level IV work release and violation of probation facilities as a precaution to protect inmates and staff from coronavirus (Covid 19). These measures come as state authorities announced today the first presumptive positive coronavirus diagnosis in Delaware and is part of ongoing efforts to minimize the risk of community spread of the virus to DOC facilities.

Department of Correction offers free inmate call time to facilitate community support during coronavirus response

Dover, DE–Effective today, the DOC and GTL, the Department’s vendor that provides inmate phone and video visitation services, are providing two free five-minute phone calls per week to all inmates at every Level V prison and Level IV Violation of Probation and Work Release facility.These free calls are being provided through the end of March to facilitate communication between individuals in DOC custody and their families as the Department temporarily suspends in-person visitation as a precaution to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19to its facilities.

I believe there are also some free video visits in a couple of states

Delaware Doc are reopening visiting on the 29th June. They put safety measures in place including social distancing , hand sanitiser, temperature checks for visitors and screens.
