Default Lockup: Return to Corcoran - MSNBC Investigates

Hey Everyone! I just thought I'd let ya'll know that MSNBC Investigates, will be airing "Lockup: Return to Corcoran" on the following dates..
-----------------------------------
Sunday - 11/5/06 - 7:00pm
Sunday - 11/5/06 - 10:00pm
Monday - 11/6/06 - 2:00am
-----------------------------------
I've been anxiously waiting for MSNBC to air this episode of "lockup" again, seeing as I missed it the last time it aired. I'm curious to see where my man is living and how things are around there. As much as it hurts, it's still nice knowing, ya know? Anyway, here's a little description of the show, for those of you who haven't heard of it before..

Lockup: Return to Corcoran - It’s one of California’s largest maximum-security prisons and home to two of the state’s most notorious killers, Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan, but to many, Corcoran State Prison is best known as the site of so-called “gladiator fights.” Prison guards allegedly looked on as inmates fought one another in concrete yards, sometimes to the death. The guards were acquitted, but when we first brought our cameras into Corcoran five years ago the prison was still recovering from the scandal and looking for new ways to combat rampant violence. In this hour of "Lockup" we take you back into this highly charged facility to see whether it has overcome its troubled past.

Default great!

Wow, thank you for the info! I've been watching those "Lockup" shows, hoping to see Corcoran. I'm so glad I finally get to see "behind the walls" other than the visiting room!

The show will most likley show the parts of the prison that our family isn't in. Got to remember that our guys (at least my family member) are in CSATF/sp. The media wants to show "violence and all out disregard for the inmates." Are any of our guys in that type of sistuation? Of couse this forum covers some other areas, but I bet the show will focus on the most restrictive areas. The good part will be that if the yards look alike we will get an idea of what thier "home" looks like. I have only crude drawings and my imagination. Lets all watch....

HZQUEEN, if your in the LOS ANGELES area it is channel 356 and comes on at 6pm and 9pm Pacific time. It is listed on their guide as MSNBC investigates but when you click on the title it shows you CORCORAN.

Silvershadow, I'm guessing by that you meant level 3 & 4 yards, & the SHU? If so, then I'm most definitely looking foward to it now, seeing as it'd be focusing on the areas my man is/has been housed on. Because my man is never lower than a level 3 and spends alot of time in the SHU (unfortunately! ).. as you said before, it'll be (for lack of better words) "nice", in a weird kinda way, seeing what "home" is. I agree that we should all watch!

By the way.. does anyone know when this was filmed? I remember browsing through the threads awhile back, and reading that it's rather new footage.. if I remember correctly, it said it was filmed in 2005?? Too bad I don't remember what thread it was...

I'm in the bay area and looked for it before leaving on Friday but there were different scheduled listings. I was going to TIVO it, since i was on my way to Corcoran to visit my husband....hmmmm I'll continue to search for it every weekend...I've watched almost everyone the past 2 years.

Hey everyone.. I don't know how this happened, but, the times I gave you guys are wrong. SORRY! I have noo idea how I slipped up.. I don't even know if it was my fault or the site I got the info. from! But luckily, I checked again today (TV Guide) and got the following air times..

Sunday, November 5 - 6:00 PM
Sunday, November 5 - 9:00 PM
Monday, November 6 - 1:00 AM

Note: I'm from the Bay Area, and my local cable provider is Comcast Cable. MSNBC is channel 60 around here.. so I'm not sure if it's different in other areas.

Wow i really want to watch this-altho i saw a pic of the overcrowding at the prisons on a website-and even tho it wasnt corcoran-it still made me cry. I hope I can watch this without breaking down. I do want to know what things are like behind those walls-since we only get to see the surface. thanks again for the info

Hey everyone. Hope all is well. I watched the program last night and I have to be honest with you. I was a "wreck" by the time it ended. My husband has been down for 3 years now (almost a year at Corcoran) and I NEVER realized the cells were so small. I guess we stay so "in touch" (visits, cards, letters ,etc.) with each other that I actually forget he is "locked up". It definitely shook me up. I dont think I want to watch again. I CAN'T WAIT to visit my honey this Friday. I pray to God that everybody inside holds it down so that we can visit without the threat of a lockdown. Sorry for rambling. Peace everyone.

Atch & Waitingforcad, I was in tears too! Although it was "nice" getting an actual image of what life is like in there, it's also heart-breaking. It takes one strong individual to be able to make it in there. Our loved ones go through a whole lot, more than we know. This show was just a glimpse of the day to day life they lead.. now imagine what things are really like for them, being in there 24/7. Damn, I hate having to accept the things I can't change when it comes down to a loved one. That's life though.. all I (we) can do is be there for them, and love them.

luvnstarz67, I sent you a PM!

I wanted to tape it, but couldn't.. my dorkass forgot to set the timer. However, for those of you who can't watch it for one reason or another, I am willing to tape it the next time it comes on. I'll be sure to check often to see when the next airing will be. So, if anyone wants a copy and what not, then PM me and let me know.

Oh yeah, by the way.. it was taped at Corcoran 1.
