Hi Maloswifey! I noticed that your message was the only current message in the entire RJ Donovan section.. My husband will be transferring to this facility in the next few months and I am wondering if you were able to get any information? Have you been to visit already?

Thanks!!

My husband is at RJD. He was recently transfered there so i haven't visited. He will be released to come home by the end of July. The whole RJD thread is outdated with no current info, it sucks.

Default More info on Donovan/What Levels Accepted Here?

Hello,

Can someone please tell me what types of yards and prisoners Donovan accept? My husband told me he wouldn't be able to go here unless they changed the yards. I haven't heard from him in awhile, I finally got a letter saying things are changing for him and he might be going to Donovan now. That he can't tell me in a letter it has to wait till in person so I'm trying to piece it all together on my own.
Thank you

Question RJ Donovan Expansion - Anyone have any info?

I have a friend who is trying to get transferred closer to home. He is currently at California City and considering we are from San Diego Donovan would be perfect for him. He asked me if I had heard anything about the new facility they are building that should be opening up soon. I am hitting quite a few brick walls on the internet. Does anyone have any information about it?

Thanks in advance!

My husband might be transferred here soon. He asked me to check into what different yards there are at Donovan for a level 3 inmate? Any info is helpful, thank you.

I'm not real sure on how to use these forums so please forgive me if I do it wrong. My son is currently at VSP in Chowchilla but is wanting to transfer to RJDonovan to make it easier for us to visit since we live near San Diego. I know recently there is has been something about combining GP and SNY there. Can anyone tell me what it is like as far as violence, etc.? I'm more concerned about his safety than I am about the ease of visiting. He goes up for committee next week so I need a quick answer. Thanks very much.

Default Friends Outside/RJ Donovan

Yes they do. I don't know a lot about it, outside of being able to get clothing, if you get turned away by visitation. I can't seem to post the url since I'm new but just add /rjd.htm to the Friends Outside website url.

I heard that you can take the trolley and a van can pick you up. Give Friends outside a call to set it up. I hope this helps!

You're very welcome. Pack extra sets of clothing. The rules change on a daily basis, depending on who's in a bad mood, sadly.

One thing to keep in mind, people with early appts like 8 or 9 am, are always asked to leave first when it starts to get crowded. If you only plan on staying until about 11:30 or noon, you'll be fine. If you want to maximize your time, choose 9:30 or 10 and you should be good until 2:30. What yard is your man in?

D yard is the least violent. All in all RJD is known for being one if the least violent prisons. It houses a lot of inmates with medical needs. C yard is an active gang yard so it's somewhat violent. My man was in C yard and is now in D yard.
