Default Sending book to DR

Forgive me if I've asked this in the wrong place. My dear friend is on Polunsky DR. I've asked him before about sending him a book and he has said any books are welcome but he didn't really want me to because he doesn't want me spending any money on him. I would really like to surprise him with a book for the holidays but I'm kind of worried about the amount of space he may have. I guess the easier thing to do would be to ask him but I'd really like it to be a surprise!

Anyway, I guess I'm just asking anyone for a reason why I SHOULDN'T send him one? And yes, I do know to use an approved vendor. Thanks!

I say send him a book. When he has finished reading it, he will likely pass it on for someone else to read or give it to the library so space isn't really an issue

Hi there as long as you use an approved vendor then it should be fine. As coachy1 said he can pass the book on when he has read it. new books are always in high demand.
I think you are doing a nice thing for him.

One question with regards to approved vendors:

I don't see it listed anywhere so I assume I can't, but can I order from walmart? I was going to order from amazon but this particular book is actually much cheaper at the prior.

If they'll ship to a prison then it should be fine.
