is state mail easier for an inmate to get than county mail is?
Ive sent my boyfriend 5 letters, and other people has sent him letters too.....and hes only gotton one letter altogether. I told him hes gon have the same problem which is not reciving my letters when he goes to state, but he said state prison is way better then county jail when giving them their mail. Is this true?
sometimes the jail/prison will hold the mail....
sometimes mail just slow....
both are reasons unknown the ppl on the outside or even to the inmates...
they do read and check.... also it be so many....etc....
State prisons are much better than county jails! However, the jail should be giving him his letters - but they usually take their good natured time in doing so. I hope he writes a grievance about not getting letters that he knows for a fact you and others have sent to him!
Inprison, he'll still encounter problems now and then with mail and other things - but overall, county jails SUCK big time.
And - he'll get more perks in prison - like being able to buy more/different items at Commissary and use of microwave so he can make some of his own meals, pool tables, and other things...
Where is he? Hwen I wrote to my husband in LACJ-MCJ it took about
2 1/2 weeks. When he was in NCCF it only took a little over a week. For example if I mailed it on Monday, he usually had it by Friday of that same week.

When my husband was in county, he got my letters quicker... but when he went to state it took him a while to get my letters... even when he got moved and mainlined, his letters that was in RC trannsfered to him... but to me, county mail got to him quicker, maybe it was just me...
My letters arrived faster in county because it was in the same town and I was able to mail them from the post office right around the corner from the jail. It takes a little longer now but we are finding that it helps that I have started adding those extra 4 numbers to the zip code.
