Default Monroe but NOT Twin Rivers?

I'm so confused! My guy just called. He finally got his "hardcopy" and said he's going to Monroe. But he said it's not Twin Rivers. The ones going to Twin Rivers said "MCC-TR". His just said "MCC". Does anyone know the difference. I looked at the web site, but of course that's just all "official" stuff and doesn't tell me What the facility is REALLY like and who goes to MCC and who goes to Twin Rivers. He has no affiliations, and is medium security.
Also, does anyone happen to know the visitation for this place? We assumed he would be going to Twin Rivers, so I don't know anything about this other part of Monroe.
Any info would be helpful to me. I'm going to continue to search for info since he can't find anyone in Shelton that knows anything and he's going to call tomorrow morning to see what I've found out.
Thanks for the help.
Brat

MCC is Monroe Correctional Complex. He is going to be in the reformatory. Twin Rivers is mostly known for sex offenders, but I know that they dont JUST house sex offenders there. (my cousin was in Twin Rivers for robbery)There is also the camp there as well. They are all next to each other, but have different entrances for visits. Its been awhile since I have been to the reformatory, but I believe visits run from noon till 8, but dont quote me on that. They don't send anyone in particular to any facility. It all depends on their points (prior convicts, escapes, basic bahavior, type of crime) and where a bed is available. I hope this helps a little, I know there are a few ladies on here that might know more. Good luck!!!

Justheather - Thanks so much for your help! He has 47 pts - no priors, but the robbery was considered violent, so he lost 10 pts. He should be calling shortly, so I'll pass on the info to him.
It's funny that people on the outside can get better info on where the "insiders" are going.

I've only been to MCC once to visit, and really- it was better than the pther places that I've been. More relaxed.
Justlisa would have more info for you. PM her, i know she will get back to you!

Good luck!

Justtami - Hopefully JustLisa is reading and will chime in. I don't want to PM her without an "invitation".
My guy didn't call when he was supposed to for whatever reason, so who knows when I'll be able to get the information to him.

Hello... I'm chiming in.. lol.. Like Heather said he must be going to the reformatory, because the camp is minimum custody and you said he is medium custody.. Just for your info. there are four different institutions at MCC - WSR - which is the big one, Twin Rivers, MSU - which is "camp", minimum custody and SOU, which is the Special Offenders Unit - that houses more of the mental health people or sometimes for other reasons too.

We have another PTO member who just started visiting there at WSR, I think it is Williesma...

Thanks for the info. So, the fourth would be the reformatory? Do you know if they have TV's? He said he'd REALLY like me to get him a TV. I said "we'll see" (isn't that what my parents always said) LOL!!

They can have TV's yet again another thing they have top buy. You can send in the money for it, but remember that they take a percentage out of everything you send in. He should have been told what that will be. I believe the lowest is 35%.

He may get lucky and get in a cell with someone that already has a tv... The tv's are outrageously expensive.. I had a friend that had 75% of his money taken from him so in order for him to have a tv he had to have about 1000 sent in... which to me is absolutely insane!!!

If you know he is there for sure you can write to him and ask him to send you a visit form.. You will have to fill it out, mail it back in and then it takes a few weeks for the approval process.

If you don't know his specific whereabouts you can email:
doccorrespondence@doc1.wa.gov
Give them his name and approproximate age if you don't have his DOC# and they will give you his address..

Welcome to PTO..
