At a hearing on December 9, 2014, Kwame Ajamu (formerly Ronnie Bridgeman) was formally exonerated of the 1975 murder for which he was sentenced to death. Ajamu joins his brother, Wiley Bridgeman, in freedom and co-defendant, Ricky Jackson, in freedom becoming the 150th death row exoneree since 1973. On November 21, Jackson and Wiley Bridgeman were released in Ohio. Prosecutors filed a motion to drop charges against all three defendants.
This has been the 150th exoneration since 1973 and 7th in 2014.
