Default Making a quilt

I have decided to make a quilt out of his clothes. I have made quilts on a small scale before but I have said before (to myself) that I wanted to make a blanket. so...that will be something useful in stead of just throwing them away since the orange paint doesn't come off.... that and then we will finally get some alone time quiet time in bed too

Nice idea, plus it will keep memories fresh. I'd love to see a photo when it's done (being a quiltaholic myself)

I've done this in the past and it's a terrific idea. Their snuggle factor just flies off the charts when it's that personal. Nice choice, Jadah.

If you back favorite t-shirts with fusible web you can use those in the quilt too.

Now I feel awful I gave all mines clothes away to a friends son who just had gotten out of prison and needed clothes. Makes me sad to think I could have done something like this. Great idea.

I finished a denim quilt, and have started another one. Both use denim mainly from his and my clothing. VERY heavy, difficult to wash, but VERY warm. He'll appreciate them when he gets home this winter.

Hey guys, Now that I have finished a lot of my other "to do list" things, I started cutting out the pieces for my husbands quilt. I have a lot of his jeans, So I looked up patterns to do with denim. I found and American Flag theme, and then thought I would make a "statement" piece. Design the flag out of the denim pieces with the orange paint displayed and them in the boarder spell out "Land of the free".
Because of the heavy material, I think I may have to get a sewing machine...the cool thing is before he died, he told me to save his mom's books. So I did. What should I find in her bookcase...a Quilting book.....there are no coincidences.

I finally got the denim quilt top finished, and finished a lightweight cotton quilt top. Now I just need to buy the filling to finish them both.

I started lay out the pieces last night... I am glad I started doing that just to double check my pattern.... I need more denim to make the size I want. I will add some of my old jeans too.

Default Quilt tops

Here are the two quilt tops that I just finished. I only need to buy batting and put the backs on.
