Default Women's March January 21, 2017 / Updated - Anniversary Marches 2018

Is anyone going to the Women's March in Washington DC on Saturday, January 21? We could march together if we could meet up

I would if it were more local for me, say, in Chicago. I live in St Louis. However, I read that they have 4x as many buses as ones for the inauguration. What does that tell you? Protests are happening. That is hopeful. I hope they can be peaceful, and that the media does not sensationalize!

There may be a Women's March in Chicago, or another city near you as they are popping up across the country for the 21st.

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/womens-...ts-30449045916

FYI: Tickets are 0 - $2

I can't go. There are marches in every major city and a lot of minor cities, so participation can be had just about anywhere. There's a march in a small city near me, and I still can't go.

I do suggest anybody going to D.C. Or NYC (since it will pass trump tower) head to the ACLU site and check into their "what to do if you're arrested at a protest" stuff. Best to Know Your Rights.

March for me, ladies. March for me.

I have to work.
But I do know that there will be several marches in my general area.
San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose for the larger ones.
I think I heard or read that 616 different women's marches going on Saturday

Its a shame I didn't see this earlier. My two daughters (aged 24 and 14) and I took the train down from Baltimore to Washington DC to take part in the Women's March yesterday. We all felt it was an important thing to do, and we also meet some lovely people while we were there. How was it for you Patchouli?

And that doesn't include any of the 662 other march attendance. I was in Stamford Connecticut, which expected about 800. By the time we broke, after the speakers were done, and went marching through the streets, the police estimate was 3,500 - 4,000.

It felt good to be there, good to know there are other people who care. But it made me incredibly sad that we had to do it at all.

It was awesome!! Packed, but peaceful I'm sooo tired (and sore) today that I can hardly hold my head up if I sit still for a few minutes I have to get up from this computer and move around quite a bit....it'll be an early bedtime for me for sure It was a long bus ride there, and a long bus ride home, but I met some wonderful people. It was so worth the trip to get our voices heard

I'm glad you & your daughters were able to go!! What a teaching moment in civil unrest / peaceful protest & standing up for your rights for your daughters! You're leading by example!!! Thank You

EDIT: Make a list of ALL your representatives (Senate / Congress) complete with phone, fax, email, postal address and don't be afraid to whoop out that list and use it!

And this afternoon they acknowledged (indirectly) that there were a whole lot more people at the Women's March than at the Inauguration.!

Yeah...poor donald is so concerned with the size of his inauguration = I suppose its overcompensation for / correlated to the size of his penis, that part of his anatomy where his brain resides.

I was afraid for my country.

But after seeing the large turnout in the Women's March, I have such hope.

And now the March for Life (the anti-abortion crusaders) are complaining that their march didn't get as much coverage.

Uh, yes it did (get quite a bit of coverage)...I saw it on CNN (more than once today), on CBS (more than once today) and on the lo9cal news (more than once today). They just didn't have the record number of participants that we did
