I'm probably the wrong person to be responding to this thread because my son leaving is still fresh to me. The hurt inside, no it's more like a ache, just sort of brings me to my knee's sometimes. I guess the thing that keeps me on the right path is that I know this isn't the end. I have to believe that when my time comes I will be reunited with my son. I have to believe he is pain free now, in a better place, and nothing or no one can ever hurt him again. Now some believe I am in denial, that I have not yet began my mourning process. I don't know, does sleeping on the couch in a fetal position because I can't bare to go upstairs and pass his room count?
I wish I knew what to say. You just have to believe this isn't the end. bb

I'm so sorry for your loss. I haven't lost a child but lost one of my sons friends a few months ago in a car accident. He was 19. Yeah I knew that great kid and believe everyone's somebody's child and are precious. It was the saddest funeral of two I can remember besides my parents of course. The mama cried for her baby and you couldn't even her a pin drop but her cries. The hardest thing is ever having to see a child you love buried but especially be the mom. Lots of hugs and prayers to you and your family.

Wow your story has really touched me. I have been sober for 6 months, still very new and praying everyday for the strength to stay sober. I have been an addict on and off since I was 16 im 27 now and I don't want to lose my life by my own hands. I'm so sorry for your lose and you are right jail is not for an addict they need help.

I am so sorry for your loss. The pain that you feel has got to be the worst pain in the world.

I hope you continue on your path of sobriety!! One never knows when the last time will be to use - the time that plucks a life. Jail isn't the right place for a lot of people, addicts, or mentally ill. Best of luck to you!
