Did you guys have a fight or something like that?

Cool Anyone have loved one refuse your visit

I drove 120 miles spent 60 bucks, 40 being for him to eat on during visit only to have officer tell me my man refused my visit, my man claims after receiving my hate letter that he knew nothing of a visit that an officer did it to mess with him, anyone have similar experience or info about any prisoner refusing a visit

That would be the last time I went to visit. I don't care if we had a fight ..no fight whatever.. If I made the effort to go visit and he refused i would not go back.

I wouldn't visit again for quite a while especially as he had no good reason. Even if you had an argument it's unforgivable

Saw the other thread you've started and just because of some letter he refused to see you? Well.... refuse him as well and refuse to send money. If he has to say something to you he can write... unbelievable...

No. No. No. He didn't call me until after he received my letter of anger regarding the denied visit, and then he claims he was never told he had a visitor and that a C.O.must of refused it just to mess with him

I think the chances of a CO making up something like that are exceedingly slim. Most COs just don’t give a crap about you and would be unlikely to do something just to mess with you without getting anything in return. I mean... anything’s possible, but in my professional experience at the prison, the COs just aren’t that interested in your life.

I think it’s more likely that he either did refuse the visit for some reason and then thought about that decision and tried to cover it with this “vindictive for no apparent reason CO” story... or possibly he was already at a visit with someone and didn’t want two at once.

Actually if he's in a county jail I can believe this. Also sometimes if two visitors show up one will be refused.

I hate to say, but since he brought up "hate letter" sounds like he did it for revenge. I could be wrong and hope I am.

I had a situation where I went to visit a friend and they told me she refused the visit. I later found out she was never informed that she had a visitor. So these things happen.....fortunately I only drove about 15 miles each way.

I must visit at weird prisons because the COs are overly interested in our lives. That can be good (and mostly has been) or it can be a real PITA (had my experience there, too). But bear in mind that the COs at our facilities rotate positions. They work the yard and visiting. I think that promotes a connection that might not happen if they only work visiting or only work the yard. A few have routinely asked my husband about the progress with my health. I appreciate that they give him that courtesy.

I've seen it time and time again where COs "forget" to call out to the yard to have an inmate released for visit. It's not the same as lying and saying they refused, but it's close. So yes, I believe it.

What would I do if it happened? Well in the moment, there's not much I could do. It would surprise the hell out of me, though, as it would be so out of character for him. He's more likely to confront me if he's unhappy than run from me. So my letter to him would have asked why it happened, but probably wouldn't have been accusatory.
