I had a really good visit this Saturday, but I wanted to pass on that you need to make sure you get there at least 30 min. before your appointment because if your late they will not let you in till later. This lady had an 8:30 appointment and she got there at 9 and they told her she needed to come back later with then non appointment

You have to get to the prison early and form a line in the parking lot. Then at about 10:30, a guard will come out and start handing out passes and will let you know when you can go in. It is first come, first serve. You will most likely be in the parking lot for 2 - 3 hours.

Please continue to share any NEW rules or enforcements that are going on to avoid a long a painful processing (for New Vistors, even existing ones!). If you would list what KVSP yard/level you are visiting, when posting, would be very helpful.

For example: NO hoodies, scarfs, beenies/head wraps, gloves, stay away from metal buttons (even small latches on your docker pants!), no sleeveless blouses, no sweaters that fall at your shoulders, because they are considered removable-or any clothing that could be removed. Three attempts thru the metal dector, if you don't pass your visit is denied.

Unfortunately, these are things only one finds on their own! There is no CDCR postings online, no CDCR amended vistor's guide, not even the posted sheet in the waiting room states ALL of these things.

Don't hold your breath that the CO's will advise you otherwise, not to mention any additional information that might be helpful. Instead they tell you when you've already spent gas, time, money to get there; a little too late! It's not as simple as following the rules, if the rules are otherwise not listed or amended for us to follow prior to a visit! It's simply just because the CO's want to overexaggerate because they can.

For what yard? I was told appointments and vpass don't apply to all yards; depending on where you are visiting?

Thru Vpass starting tommorow at 8pm; they are closed to call them directly today

Sorry I wasn't more specific appts start at 8pm so u can check at 8 today for Saturdays appt and then try Sunday after 8 or sometimes they add both days sometimes they add the other day a few days later. The Vpass is for all yards except for non contact appointments. I always start checking like at 7pm and its there.

When and if I am able to set up an appointment tonight, how do I add on another person to my appointment?
So my babes DAD, is approved and he wants to come with me. He has never visited before and I have never taken anyone with me... 2 years since they last saw each other.

How do I add him to my visit? And what info do I need from him?
Do I need to add him when I set an appointment or can I add him later on or would VPass even let me?

I'm not sure because I haven't done it yet but make sure he is approved before you bring him there.

Before you set your appointment, go to MANAGE MY VISITORS and add him, He needs to be added to your profile in order to be able to add him to one of your appointments. Definitely include him when you make your appointment Because you could take him off in case he can't go but you can't add him later

don't worry you're still good, when they first stated. they had a little glitch that u were able to book before Sunday but they fixed that so as long as you logged in by 8pm on Sunday you should be good and once you get use to VPass you're really going to like it because it will give different time options that are available but the best is you get approval right then and there. Keep I mind they still have option to call your appointment in but they only have a few slots for phone calls. Good luck and hope u get ur visit
