I'm still waiting for a product with more capacity...I have over 12,000 MP3 files in my Jukebox, so 40G would be sucked up in a heartbeat in my case. I'm still "collecting" at a rate of 100-200 files per month, so anything less than 100G would be like tossing money away.

I'll be pateint

slainte, sorry about that, I had no idear! LOL

and I am very confused now, ya'll say you can not run the IPOD and Itunes on windows 98? My brother said you could, but I wonder, can you or not?

also, if I get one, can I use the Mp3 songs I already have downloaded and transfer them to the Ipod? Do I transfer the Mp3's from Itunes?

and lastly, if I get XP version how much memory do I need? I am running on like 190 mb of Ram now.

thanks everyone.

I suggest that if you are thinking of a I-pod, and debating on whether or not to get a mini, or a 20GB... You go for the 20GB. The mini sells for 250.00$
I think it is worth it to get the 20gb for $300 and not a mini for $250 right? That is what I was thinking too.

Mrs G, the specs say you have to have 2000 and up, but like my bro-in-law found out, he could use his mp3 player on a 98 also. I'm not sure what the problems might be in doing it that way since he ended up installing XP anyway.

Yes, you can import all your music files into iTunes. That's what I do. I had all my CDs on my pc and when I got iTunes, I imported them all in there. It converts your mp3's to whatever format iTunes uses and then you download them to your Ipod whenever you want. It's purty handy

And you've got the mini vs regular argument down! The only reason in the world that I can see for a mini is because they are cute and tiny.....which of course I just had to have...lol. Money wise, storage wise, and everything else wise, it's worth it to get the regular for the few extra bucks. And like was said above, you can buy skins and jackets relatively cheap to personalize it.

Hope this helps ya more. And I had no clue on the program sharing either! I thought maybe that's what shareware was....lol. I know how to fix pc problems but nothing about programs and all that stuff. There was some program my parents had that said they could download it 5 times so I thought maybe that's what we were all talking about. Learn something new and useful every day here

I think they will be in the stores soon if they aren't already... you might want to check Apple's website.
