When did it pass and what is the Bill #? Has it been signed by Arizona's Governor? The Bill # will be especially helpful.

Are you referring to HB2270? It looks like it reduces time served through good conduct. However it also appears to have stalled out.

SB1310 appears to have been passed in June. It also changes time to serve, check it out here.

AZ Statute 41 - 1604.09 mentions, among other things, parole eligibility at 50% but it's more complicated than saying that all 1st time, non-violent offenders will see the Board at 50%:

Quote:
D. The director shall certify as eligible for parole any prisoner classified within an eligible classification five months immediately before the prisoner's earliest parole eligibility. The inmate shall be required to remain in a parole eligible classification from the date of certification until the date of release on parole. If the inmate does not remain in a parole eligible classification until the date of release on parole, the entire parole process shall be rescinded. For the purposes of this subsection, the prisoner's earliest parole eligibility occurs when the prisoner has served one-half of the sentence imposed unless the prisoner is sentenced according to any provisions of law that prohibit the release on any basis until serving not less than two-thirds of the sentence imposed by the court, the sentence imposed by the court or any other mandatory minimum term, in which case the prisoner must have served the sentence required by law.

Wow.....I thought Florida was the only one that made their prisoners do that kind of time on a sentence, not that I up on that. I can't keep up with what they do or change here in Texas. I get tired of always hearing about the time changes and criteria, not where PTO is concerned, but just, in general. Its like among the legislatures and governing body I'm prone to ask....MAN.....DON'T YOU GUYS EVER SLEEP. TAKE A BREAK SOME TIME ON BREAKING IT OFF IN SOMEONE FOR A CHANGE.

I think there are a few, very few, states that still set parole eligibility at 85% for all offenders....and BOP is still 85%

My husband told me that he'll find out in February 2020 if he will get out sooner than August 2020 (85%).

What did he base this information off of?
I've heard and read in the policies that ADOC may release them up to 3 months sooner than there projected release date but I haven't heard of them being notified 6 months in advance.

Probably from other inmates. That's what I figured.
