Default Anyone heard that Valley State is transferring a lot of inmates?

Has any one else heard that they are transferring a lot of inmates out? My son says a lot are going to Avenal if they refused the blood test or are positive like him for Valley fever. Right now VSP has the highest occupation percentage of any CA prison and Avenal the lowest. Just Rumor so far he hasn't received any paperwork yet

My Hunny Got His Paper Saying to pack up transferring to Avenal.. There Sending all who are infected there. But the thing is He juz had a blood test and it came out negative for Valley Fever. So we are all worried he might contract it by being around it. 😳

Weird they would send him if he tested negative. Valley fever is not contagious from one person to another. You get it from the fungus that is natural in the soil. If you test positive it means you have already been exposed to it and have built up some antibodies to fight it off. If you did not get deathly ill from it which is what happens to a very small percentage of the people. Most people just get cold like symptoms and never even know it was from valley fever. The only good thing about going to Avenal right now is they were at less than 100% capacity while VSP was the most overloaded prison at over 170% Plus it's an hour closer to home. My son is still waiting to get papers . He tested positive. You never know with the CDCR though. Hope everything works out for the best for you
