I left high school when I was fifteen and never finished (Of course I didn't go to college either.). I admire those who did finish college.

I love learning and I am fortunate enough so that a local university lets me sit in on their classes for free (although I get no credit). For some courses, they will even grade my homework, and let me attend office hours. I have gotten to know some of the professors and students.

In my circumstances, at this point, it wouldn't make sense to go back to complete high school and go to college. But, I'm still learning.

I have my High School Diploma, an Associate's in Business, and two more semesters for my Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. Then going for my Master's in Social Work! Can't wait 'til it's all finally over... sigh!

I am pursuing my Master's degree starting in Spring 2011. I get entirely too much grief from "nay-sayers" saying that I shouldn't be wasting my time with him because I have a degree and too much going for myself. What they fail to realize is that I do NOT believe my degree makes me a better person than he. He and I grew up in two totally separate situations and by chance we crossed paths at ages 8 and 9. I've LOVED that man ever since and will continue to LOVE him until God the Father says otherwise!!!

My friends support me with my dude even after hearing his charges but they still are way surprised because they assume that because i'm in college for a PhD degree that i would never be with an inmate. That because i'm so nice and sweet that he isn't. So i kinda know how you feel.

It seems like the more I read into this site the common situation is that the majority of you are females with your other inside. For me my girl is in the New Mexico Women's Correctional Facility and we both have degrees. She has a BSM and I have a BSE, just patiently waiting for her to come home and continue on in her career. I love her regardless and just want to hold her in my arms again.

I have two degrees. One in Elementary Education and one in Spanish. I am also certified to teach Early Childhood Education...

Sadly I don't want a career that has anything to do with either degree.

I'm currently working on my Bachelors degree in the medical field and plan on specializing and getting my masters. He's very supportive which helps a lot since I tend to get discouraged easily with working full time and going to school full time. Some days I just feel like throwing up my hands and staying under the covers and never getting out of bed.
I'd like to see him make an effort and try to get some more eduction at the prison.

Oh the joy fun of stereotypes! I did graduate high school and took a 1 1/2 of college til I couldn't afford it anymore. I am hoping to go to some type of school, I am thinking floral design since I have always wanted to.

I went to school in Germany and my degrees are not accepted here. Have a degree in criminal justice with an understudy in US law. Had to start over after I moved here and now work as a nurse, mostly with alzheimers patients and people with spinal cord injuries. My second job is at a pharmacy as a technician.

I have a nursing degree, I don't see what that has to do with dating a inmate. Also I'm still in school working on a Bachelors Degree. So........

I am working towards a BA in forensic science with a concentration in DNA analysis and contemplating med school to become a medical examiner.

I would consider myself to be an educated woman and like many others feel that my education and background have nothing to do with who I love.

Although I haven't graduated from college yet...I am one semester away, I will have my BA in Communication with a minor in Public Relations. I am already looking into going to grad school, possibly in Europe or Australia. The stereo types or stupid and annoying. Most of the stereotyping comes from my family too, it sucks!

I'm a year away from finishing my Bachelors in English - Editing, Writing, and Media. I've been going to school non-stop since I graduated high school. My education has no effect on who I love.
