Um... I'm not married to him yet but he's gaven me his last name and I use it like were already married. Like when I have to sign in to see him I use his last name. Lol I'm so used to using his last name cuz I sign all of my letters with my first name and his last name (I write him all the time that's why I'm so used to it) Even on the envelopes I put my first name then his last name and when he write me he puts my first name and his last name on the envelopes as well. But yea I'm taken his last name when we get married I see it as a sign of being proud of my man and our relationship to take his last name and since I'm getting married to him while he's in prison I'm trying to keep it as traditional as possible and taken his name is a tradition of getting married in my books. My sister-in law didn't take my brothers last name and I kinda resent her for not doin so because its feels like she didn't even want to be part of the family or him for the long haul. But that's just my opinion on the way I see things.

Lovin my king/daddy/heart/everything to the fullest! <3 F the public!

I never thought it would matter to me whether I took someone's last name, but this time apart made me realize I want to share absolutely everything in life and I would love and be proud to take his last name when the time is right.

Well ladies, I understand about taking the last name of the man we love so much but I gotta an awkward situation. Gonna have to hyphenate that last name bc I am an only child and my son has his dad's last name so the name dies with me if I drop it. I'm a daddy's girl and he has passed away and he named me after his friend who is a famous author. My future hubby understands thankfully. Besides it has a ring to it! My daughter already has both of our names. Poor baby what is she going to do when she gets married one day? lol!

I definately took his name. He is still in county. No sentence yet but we thought better to get married now than try later. Oir county was awful about trying to get married but one county over was great and much easier. But I definately took his name. I think it shows support and dedication by having the same name. I was worried because it will be high profile when he goes to trial but I just thought if Im willing to marry him and stand beside him I should share his name.

My honey and I have discuss the topic of marriage and I told him we did not have to get married once he's free. We can just live in sin for the rest of our lives.

Oh wow I guess I am one of the very few women who had reservations about taking his last name. LOL I know it's tradition and all but me and him have had SEVERAL conversations about it and he said it is most def be a big problem if I don't take his last name. I think we settled on hypenating my maiden name and married name. That is the best of both worlds I guess.

I already go by it except when I have to produce ID for something. My bills and stuff still come in my own name, because I can't change them yet but once we're legally married I will.

We were married 1-20-12 & I immediately changed my last name as soon as I got the marriage certificate at the the DMV, Social Security, banks, on credit cards ect ect. I think he's more excited for me to have his last name than I am! Probably because he wasn't the one going everywhere to change it haha
