Right now I have my ex-husband's name, so yes. Even if I had my maiden name it would still be yes, but you can imagine how eager he is now to replace my ex's name with his!

I don't want to take his family name. I know what his early life was like and how he was treated and I dont have respect for that name. We have talked about this from time to time and decided we will both change names. He is reluctant to take my family name (for different reasons and which I understand) we talked about my Mother's maiden name, which remains a possibility. But I think it is likely we will choose another altogether. This may need to be done by deed poll, or other documents, but it would be 'ours'.

Aww!! I think that's sweet the way he refers to you with his last name, I thought that was special when my love did the same thing to me! So now we are married in our hearts like you also mention!!

Well I really would love to have his last name "officially" when we get married! I know some people might not like it when some children have different last names but that's not our case!! My son loves him as his own dad and he loves my son so much that he even suggested changing his last name to his too!! love both of my man in my life and we can't wait till he gets out so we can finally be a family together, but for now I can't wait till I can say "I do" to him!!!!

I will be taking his last name for my drivers license and bank account but I will still be known by my current name at work. My qualification is in my current name and people will want to see it before they pay me to do something for them. I can get my qualification paperwork updated and I will do one day. But for now it's easier as it is. In my private life I will definitely be known as mrs. his last name.

That is soooo cool !!!! Very special indeed, and as long as you both truly love each other, it's very special to already share a name you've already had all your life. I think that's sooo cool!!! Congrats!

Talking

I honestly can't wait to take his last name. It's going to feel a little weird because I'm used to being a Weaver. Now I'm going to be Mrs. Lewis. I guess its really starting to sink in. My man was persistent about me marrying him. He even started putting his last name at the end of my name on my letters. I thought it was cute.

would I take his name? That's a no brainer. Even tho we aren't legally married I refer to myself as his Mrs. And he refers to me as the same. When the time comes and we do make it legal then yes I will officially make the name change legal. I'll be heading to the CA DMV to make the change official

I just married my love 3 days ago :-) We had court and hadn't expected the judge to do it (they don't do ceremonies where he's at). Next thing we knew, they were asking if we were ready. Lol.... But anyways, to answer the question, yes I do plan to change my name as soon as I make it to the SS office and DMV to do so. I was back and forth on it for a bit before we got married because I didn't want my kids having a different last name than me.

I tried, although being married to an inmate you would think I have mastered the whole patience thing. Which for the most part, I have, but I still get pretty jumpy about things. Anyways we got married Saturday December 11th and no later than that following Wednesday I was on the phone to Solano, asking whats up To my surprise she said she had it, all I ad to do was come pick it up. Well to say the least, since I was unable to drive to go get it, I overnighted my money and got it Today.First thing tomorrow I'm off it REALLY make it official. Yes ladies, I'm doing the name change thing and loving it. I cant wait to officically be called.Mrs.Evans ( loves the sound of that ) So heres my question : Would you take his last name or keeps yours, if so when would you do it, now or when he comes home and if not, if you dont mind my asking why not?

Still jumping for joy Does it ever stop??????????

Congratulations, I rejoice with you and your husband!

I don't want to change my name when I get married. I've always said I wouldn't. This is who I am, my connection to my family. I might feel differently on the day but I feel pretty strongly about it now.

I definitely plan on taking his last name. He already refers to me ad his wife and I use his last name on non-legal things.
