Default Reception time 45 days? 4-6 months?

I finally got a chance to go see my girl last Sunday. It was a HUGE relief. She is doing great for her situation and although she is still in reception, and behind glass I was glad to get the time with her. I did get confused though. I am seeing and hearing conflicting time frames depending on who I talk to about the reception length.

Is the time to get "over the wall 45-180 days or is it 4-6 months?

It's always one or the other it seems in all my research.

Whats anyone's experience with the time it takes to get classified? She doesn't have a serious violent felony. I heard those are definitely longer to classify.

Thanks

It just depends on when they have a bed open up.
One that has her *level*

I know its different for the women, and everyone has a different answer but the real answer is...whenever she's been *classified* and they have a bed available for her.
Sorry not much help here.

Most of the women I've known have gotten "over the wall" in 2-3 months. 45 days is possible but is a bit faster than normal in my experience. 6 months is an extreme and usually is more the case with high-level men than with the women.

2-3 months to get classified, sorted, and put in her "home prison" is most likely.

I would've thought women would get through it faster. I advise men that it's 4-6 months because of the volume and staff turnover. I was hoping that wasn't true for the female side.

Are you back Stateside yet? Planning an oh-so-lovely glass visit?

Itís walk in Sundayís only.

Iím there at 7:30 and wait in a line of cars at the gate. Then we park and wait standing at some stupid wheelchair ramp.

Then till 9 we wait outside the office in chairs.

Then till 10 we wait inside the office in chairs

Then we do some search and sign a book.

Then walk to the visitor building and wait at the window.

Most efficient one so far she was at the window 10:32am

So all in all itís 3hr shuffle to get to her. I could come later but I donít wanna be back in line as it would cost me time anyways. Iím really learning patience these days. I wonder how the DMV will feel now that I have this new superpower of waiting.

***I wonder how the DMV will feel now that I have this new superpower of waiting.***

LOL. True!!

Interesting that the visits for reception are just walk in's. I had to try to make an appt. VERY frustrating. I only managed to get into see him while he was in reception for like......2 maybe 3 times?
then he went mainline and was over 5 hrs away.
So glad this crap is over.

And its true. You learn to be patient.

Yeah the first time I went I had made a vpass appointment for Saturday. They took me aside and said that they don't do Saturdays. I'm sitting there with a confirmation number and paper, they said go home and just do a walk in on Sunday. You only get Sunday for 1 hr behind glass.

I want to get her past this stage so bad, It is tough, I have been 4 or 5 times I cant remember now. Were both really tired.
