Hi, My name is Ana.... My husband was just sent to Downstate yesterday,but I'm so upset because he has to go back to court on June 27th for another case, so instead of waiting a whole 11 days they decided to move him, and bring him back down... He was sitting in Riker's for over a year. He was convicted of Robbery in the 2nd and was given an 11 year sentence with 5 years post supervision.... It is so hard to accept the fact that he will be gone for such a long time.... I have been with this man for over 10 years. He is my backbone, financially and emotionally. I have no other choice, but to remain strong, and be his backbone until he comes home... We are appealing the decision, and hopefully the appellate courts accept his appeal. The journey for us is just beginning even though he was incarcerated in Riker's for over a year already. He is just glad he is out of the Island, but hard for me because he will be further away, and it will be harder to see him... Thank God for phone calls.... Very happy to find this support system.

Welcome. My man is also facing a long sentence for the same. We are appealing as well. My man just got his final destination from downstate to auburn. Hang in there.

Thanks, you too... He has another case, and I have a feeling they're gonna keep him downstate till then

I hope your appeal comes through as well....

My man just left downstate he's in barehill doing a five year sentence but I'm feel the same way he was backbone and I have to be strong for me him and my kids

You have to be.... I keep looking at his conditional release date, and it kills me inside knowing that is 8 years away... It takes a strong woman to stand by a man in prison... I wish you both the best....
