Help! My bf released on transleave has not called me?

Hi,
I really need some help. My bf was released from Oregon prison- Powder River Correctional and is now on transleave vía Washington County 120 days! It was Tuesday he was released but I haven’t heard from him? What is going on? Why hasn’t he contacted me? Someone told me he can’t for a week...but others say that is not so. I just want to see him and I hate being in wonderland.../.

Welcome to Prison Talk. I hope you hear from him soon and the reason he hasn't called you yet is because the transleave "prison" won't allow it.

What is transleave? Is that like a hwh?

He may not have access to a phone that he's allowed to use yet. I know it's hard to be patient when you're so very close to the end of this, but I think you're going to need to. The last thing you want is for him to mess up his transitional leave and get another charge and (bam!) right back inside again.

Try not to dwell on it...stay busy, stay focused. He'll call when he can

Doesn't really matter "why" the facility disallows new transfers to use the phone if that's the case. He's only been there, what 2 or 3 days

He may have some sort of orientation or whatnot to complete / attend before he gets any privileges.

Please don't call his PO just because your b/f hasn't called you yet. IMHO that would only get your b'f off to bad start.

Do not call his PO - worst thing you could possibly do. Be patient as previous posters have advised. There may be several reasons why they don't allow phone calls, but at least one is that it takes a few days to have him, his SID number and a passcode set up in the Institution's phone system. That's not transferred from his previous institution.

It will all work out.
