Newbie to all things CDCR: Transferred back to state from MCRP?
Hi everyone so glad I found PrisonTalk cause I am totally lost I had a few questions is it normal for someone to be transferred back to state from MCRP when the release date if 2/21? and why is it that I can locate information on the CDCR website about him and nowhere else? like vendors websites and inmateaid etc? and what is reception?
reception is when they first arrive at a prison in Ca. Its probably the most difficult time. They are waiting to figure out where to put them, assess what the inmate can do (education, language etc) and then wait til they get a space in another facility (or the one they are in)
Not sure if its still the way it goes but its supposed to be something like 90-120 days there. Now they get one phone call per month (didnt used to) and they cannot get packages (sent thru vendors) until they mainline (go to their *home prison*)
as to why he was sent back to prison from a mcrp, I dont know if its standard to do that when they are so close to release. Hopefully someone will come along to assist you there.

Welcome!! It is not common to return to state from a hwh. Sounds like a new case or violation. Standard procedure is to be released from the hwh. You can send mail when they are in reception. It will usually take a while to hear back.
Here is some info on the Male Community Reentry Program, including eligibility / disqualifiers - some of which may be a reason for the move back to state: https://www.cdcr.ca.gov/rehabilitation/mcrp/
