Federal Bureau of Prisons Covid -19 (Corona Virus) news & information. Please use this forum to share information concerning Covid -19 in the Federal Prison System. Please do not discuss individuals who have the virus.
My fiance has been housed with Covid positive people at FCI Herlong for more than 6 weeks even though he had a negative covid test. I have not heard from him since Friday. I called the prison and they won't tell me anything. Is there anything I can do?
You can try to get a staff member, sometimes a Chaplain will do it if asked, to perform a "welfare check". Don't expect to get much information until he calls you, but you should at least be told if he is OK.
bop lockdowns often stop, or at least delay contacts from prisoners, and so do trips to the SHU. I had trusted friends who would notify my family by letter of anything major that happened that kept me from contacting them myself.

Thank you SO much for the advice. I know I have to be patient and I can usually keep calm when I don't hear from him, but covid really scares me. Not to mention, he's going to HH in June...I'm afraid if he got in trouble they won't let him. He's gone 4 years not getting into any trouble...I really hope something didn't happen.
