Default ~~Summer 2012 Chit Chat Thread~~

This is for June, and all the summers it brings

for the chiming of the church bells... that sing

In songs of matrimony o'er top hats and lace

'Fore June passes torch, to July's scarlet face

July 4th is a day for barbeques

Underneath an unforgiving sun;

Later, fireworks, perhaps the news,

Yawns, some love, and then the day is done.

For most it is a day for celebration

Of something so familiar that its grace

August Breathes hot tiger-breath on my burning skin and stalks me to the icy river where I plunge right in.

Welcome To Your Summer Chit Chat Thread!!!

I talked to my husband about this today and he said he hasn't heard any rumors about any yards at Solano going SNY.

NEW ENTRANCE PROCEDURE...

IFC was informed that starting next weekend (the 28th) there will be an officer at the Entrance Gate checking I.D.'s when we enter.

This is for everyone, staff included. Upon exit they will again check I.D. and trunks of cars.

To remind all visitors you are NOT ALLOWED
alcohol, drugs or weapons on prison grounds. AND YES, THEY DO HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO INSPECT YOUR VEHICLE.

In anticipation of this new procedure, we might all consider arriving a few minutes earlier than usual for appointments. We are allowed on grounds 30 minutes prior to appointment time.

Hello Ms Tipee,

I am trying to go in Aug. and it will be my first visit. I am driving all the way from Los Angeles and I am really nervous. They will let me in won't they? When I e-mail my appointment request do I list Sat. & Sun on that one e-mail or do I have to request the days separate?

Thanks so much,

Barbara

Barbara, getting on grounds shouldn't be a problem just make sure there is nothing in your vehicle that can be considered contraband.

As for your e-mail this is how it should read...

Subject: August 11th & 12th...

Please assign me an appointment @ (time you want here) for both August 11th & 12th... Thank you!

First we need to know if your loved one is level 2 or 3... Let us know that and we can give you the correct info you're looking for. :-)

On the level 3 they do have a kids area... we can walk around no problem...visiting is fine as long as you follow the guide lines of visiting. As for patio unfortunately we don't have that privilege...

I hope that helps...

Hi Mrs Tepee,
Since you are a wonderful wealth of info please fill me in on what level and yard he is in. His info is: C-44202 and 4-241L. What does that mean? Also, what does SNY mean?

Thank-you again for your help!

C-44202 is his CDC#... This is for the state of California to keep record of your loved one.

He is on Yard A building 4 cell 241 on the lower bunk.

SNY... Means "Special Needs Yard". There are lots of reason for being on a SNY yard to find that info out the best thing you can do is talk to your loved one.

Just another friendly reminder about the new entrance procedures... PLUS be advised that you are NOT allowed on grounds until 30 minutes prior to your appointment...

On Sunday I got there 40 minutes before my appointment and the C/O told me to go for a short drive around town and come back in 10 minutes... He was nice about it but they are sticking to the half hour mark...

The Memo issued by Solano prison stated there would be random requests during July 23rd-29th for ID's at the Entrance upon arrival and departure and trunks might be inspected.

Starting July 30, 2012 it would no longer be
random and all ID's will be checked for staff and
visitors upon arrival. Upon exiting, ID's will be
checked again and trunks will be opened.

Please be aware that you are NOT allowed to bring: alcohol, drugs, weapons, explosives and tear gas. By entering prison grounds you consent to search of your person, property or vehicle.

Per Capt. Tim Wamble: 3:30 today Tuesday 8-14
the entire institution is going on a Modified Program effective immediately. Information was received of possible tension amongst the inmate population and the discovery of a weapon on one of the Facilities.

Due to the combination of information and discovery the decision was made to modify the program institution wide. Tomorrow each facility will conduct searches of their yard and all common areas. Once complete a decision will be made on how we proceed.

It is too early to tell if this will effect visiting this weekend...

Please call 1-800-374-8474 options 1, 2, 3... To hear the most updated visiting status before heading to the facility this weekend...

I'll post any and all updates I hear about!

Whole institution back on Modified Program...

The entire institution is back on a Modified Program to facilitate a complete and thorough search of Facility B based on information received during the ModifiedProgram last week.

It is anticipated the Modified Program will last through the week. Based upon the results of the searches and interviews a decision will be made at the end of the week as to where or what we
do next.

I do not know at the present time how this will effect visiting this coming weekend.

Does that mean my confirmation would be good for say next week-end instead of this week-end if the lock-down still is in effect? Or what do I do,
reapply for another week-end?

Thanks,

You would need another confirmation... All confirmations are for specific dates... I'm really sorry. :-(
