Question New inmate mail at High Desert: should I wait or mail something now?

My fiancť just went to prison today I got a text alert from vinelink. It also has his new id number. Iíve looked on the ndoc site and I canít find him I just want to send him a letter but Iím worried about his number changing or being that heís not showing up online there will be some other problem, should a wait a few weeks or would it be ok to send him mail now?

I would send something now as it will get to him. My husband transferred from SSCC to HDSP and it took a week to show up on the system

Was he moved from a different prison or jail? If it was from a different prison his CDC number will stay the same. From jail, his number will change. You could write him but it might take a while to get to him. Mail used to take forever to get to my man til I started writing his bed unit on there. Either way he'll get it though!
