Thank You! I finally did get a couple of phone calls, the letters seem to take a while, though.

Rosebud, I just placed an order for my son yester day through Securepac. He sent me a list too, it was easy. They said it would ship out wednesday or thursday and takes 2 days to get there. But of course when they decide to give it to him is another story.
Don't know about the sexy pictures.

No, I have not gone to visit. I already have approval from Delano, don't know if I need to fill out a new one. I heard it's a pretty bad drive with the snow.....Maybe a nice summer trip..
I don't think my son has started the firecamp training yet, he just got there January 20.

My boyfriend has been there for a year. I can try to answer your questions. Just let me know. It's not such a bad place, My boyfriend is black and the racial tension is low most of the time which makes better for everyone. They just took our privilege away of sending them paper, stamps and envelpes. Let me know . Stacy

I can tell you that it has been bad this winter here. So far it is getting better and all the snow we received is slowly melting away. During the summer it's nice and hot. If you are driving be careful driving no matter what route you take because there has been a lot of accidents here lately.

Send me a pm when you get ready to come and I can tell you all about how the weather is here.

Default How long does it take for released inmates to make it back home on the bus?

My boyfriend has been there for two years, he is coming home on wednesday. It has been, for him, a horrible place. Phone restrictions are tough, there are always race issues on the yard, packages returned, no stamped envelopes, but they can appeal I have been told , to recieve any envelopes sent. Do not send any stamps. Fire Camp is key, much easier for the guys. But they are all there for a reason and you will be hard pressed to find any sympathy here.

I do, however, have a question. How long does it take an inmate to make it from Susanville to Los Angeles. I was told he would be drive by van to Sacramento to catch the bus. Does anyone have any info on release times, etc?
Thanks

The van leaves Susanville around 8:30am. It IS a van, with other inmates from HDSP. Yes, they go to SAC from there. As for getting to LA, figure they'll be in SAC around noon and check the schedule? I'm pretty sure the prison won't know and won't care.

It started February 1, 2005, you can no longer send stamps or envelopes/stamped envelopes. I sent my son 100 stamped envelopes before the rule went into effect.

The weather is usually good but this year in March it did snow. You never know with the weather here but I'll keep you posted when the time gets closer or feel free to PM me.

Ccc Has A Different Way Of Doing Things, The Inmates Have Privalge Cards And It Tells Them How Often They Can Do Certian Things. Phone Calls They Have To Make An Appointment And If There Is A Lockdown No One Gets To Use The Phone. If They Miss The Time They Have To Start All Over. The Mail Is Slow!!!!!!!!!!! You Can Only Send Stamps No Envelopes. And When You Get Approved For Visiting Make Sure That Your Son Sends You The Approval Letter It Will Be On A Blue Piece Of Paper. The Prison Will Ask For It When You Go.
If There Is Anything Else I Can Help With Let Me Know.
What Yard Is He On? If He's On Se Sierra East Let Me Know. My Boyfriend Was There And I Haven't Heard From Him In A Month. A Got A Letter 15 Days Ago And It Said There Was A Riot And He Had Hurt His Back So I Am A Little Worried.
Thanks
Nicki

NickiJo, I hope that your boyfriend is ok.
My son is at susanville and I talked to him last thursday, he said that there was a riot there.
He has been there for about 3 months, he has finnished his trainning and is just waiting on his papers to see if he is trust worthy enough to go to fire camp.
He just had his yearly and they dropped 6 points off his record. I dont know what the average point system is, but am pretty sure that that is good.
He is waiting to send any visiting papers until he knows where he will be for sure.
anyone have any idea how that works.
Thanks
Jerrysmom
